(For both the axe question, no, she refuses to use anything other than axes on a fundamental level. She will only use another weapon if she loses her axe, and that other 'weapon' is usually her fists.)
(As for the prospect of her finding peace, no, she'll never be able to get over what happened, the memory of what happened has become a part of her very personality, maybe she'll finally find peace in her older years, but as long as she can swing an axe, she'll never be able to forget.)
