Red foxes are actually the world's most widespread carnivore (which is to say, species in the order Carnivora). They do live in China and Japan.
But anyway, is that all colored pencil? Impressive. Must have taken forever.

Yes they are a species of red fox. They also have been seen as a silver version and a white version (though a white fox can be considered bad luck or an omen from the God/Godess Inari) http://www.geocities.com/ominaga2/kitsune_real.jpg ^.^
