My friend
neomi was interested in trying my eye style , so I made up a lil guide for the eyes I do.
You get the sai file to see exactly how I layer and my settings for each layer.

STEP BY STEP WALKTHROUGH BELOW! <3
Basic eye : consists of 5 layers.
~ draw lineart first. create 4 layers under this one.
~ select inside of eye. Fill the bottom layer with white.
~ On the next layer above , add a circle of the darker tone of the desired eye color.
~ On the layer above that , using a lighter tone of the desired color , Add a cemi circle inside the darker circle.
~ On the layer above that one , add white shines as desired.
Shaded eye : consists of 8 layers.
~ Follow the steps for a basic eye first.
~ On a layer above the eye shine , pick a brighter shade to create the shiny highlight on the bottom of the eye. Set layer to luminosity and turn the opacity down until you get the desired look.
~ On the next layer up , take a darker tone and add in a shadow at the top of the eye. set this layer to multiply , and turn the opacity down until you get the desired look.
~ on the layer above this , redraw in any white eye shines that are dimmed by the shadow. Lower the opacity to 70%.
Blended eye : consists of 8 layers.
~ follow the steps for a shaded eye.
~ softly go over and blurr/blend the lighter color , the shadow , the highlights , and the eye shines as desired.
Delux eye : Consists of 11 layers
~ follow the steps for a blended eye.
~ Add extra detail lines and eye shines then blend softly as desired.
~ For this example I did a layer with a few lighter lines , a layer with a few darker lines , and an extra layer with little white dots that make the eye seem sparkly. This step is mostly artist freedom , so add details and shines as you see fit. You may end up with more or less layers depending on what you decide to add.
