Ages ago when I was a child watching a Wisconsin ABC TV station* I saw a short film that apparently made quite an impression.
*Curiosity Shop was the program.
At some point in the film, there was a battle between a mean old gasoline blow torch and the rest of the tools.
For years I tried to figure out what I saw. Was it something recalled through a fever dream? Did my brain just make it up? I had no luck finding it.
That was until today when I mentioned the fragment of memory to the Roo and he set about trying to find it.
So, here it is. A stop motion film of happy tools being subjugated by a blow torch and the thoughtful and brave carpet tack.

This will be put in scraps in a fortnight

Oh gosh... That reminds me that I too have a memory of a war themed stop motion thing that I thought was a fever dream. It's called "Tulips Shall Grow" from the Puppetoon Movie, and we had it recorded on a VHS tape, but it was overwritten several times so where it started through the snowy static was the darkest parts of the war. I caught it after watching something much happier because it was at the end of the tape and I remember being absolutely horrified by it for years afterward.
Interesting in deed!
I guess I'll throw my 2 cents into this......
I like that jazzy waltzy tune!
that hammer came out of the top box with his intended purpose of nailing the tack into the workbenche .
The design of the hammer made it looked menacing (somewhat like a badger's face) !
The plot of this stop motion animation, leaves me with tons of questions marks...
That torch saved the tack from a terrible headache and the tack pokes a hole in the torch's tank!? Can you say "Harbor Freight"?!
Further more...
I remember watching one of those "Fred Sanford" shows, where Fred Sanford allegedly fired his rifle, accidentally shooting a neighbor in the neighborhood...
Fred and his son ,melted the rifle in attempts to "get rid of the evidence " ,with a similar torch.
