Hmm...
Well this took me a while, going through my older galleries and whatnot.
Because of the time frame used you can't get a great idea of how I have gone from starting out til now, since I am already 24. Also the beginning lot of stuff I found for this was dated a bit further back than 2003 but it was posted in 2004 so I went with that.

So here's some little blurbs for each year:
2003 - I was about 4 year in to drawing "anime" style art, and still drawing Oekaki and PaintBBS images (first 2). I used to leave the applets running through the day or night in order to work on one image. Those who loved Oekaki would understand. Since you can't go back to it on most Oekaki BBS you had to work on it all in one go. Sometimes my connection died because I used to be on dial up for years. Very annoying. I'd also started using Photoshop 5.5 back then, before that I was using Painter Classic (NO LAYERS OMG) >=l.
Note: the last panel here has a character who I drew this year :3 I thought that's be a cute thing to put in. Also it's worth mentioning that this person
innyfaux started me drawing anthros.
2004 - these are actually from 2003 and 2004 cuz I couldnt find much from this time on Deviantart. I used to love drawing traditionally but I was also using Painter 8 by this time. I was getting into RPGs a bit more, I hadn't played FF10 by this point though, these were gifts for friends.
2005 - Two Ragnarok Online Fanarts here. I was obsessed. I love that game even though it's stupidly hard to level on official servers. Third panel was a contest entry for iRO to design card images. I know tons of people have done that contest :P I didn't win at all but it was posted on the site for a long time. People had mixed feelings because it was sort of nudity. But RO has tons of suggestive stuff in it so who cares? Seriously. Last Panel is my Original Character Yukine. Yes, Anime influenced obviously. Think I was using Photoshop 7 by this point.
2006 - What would this meme be without the token Chii fanart? I nearly shoved SAILOR MOON in there too but I refrained. I was using different techniques and styles this point because I was at art college and it was rather inspiring :) Last panel is my EU Blizzard fanart for their site THEY DID NOT BLOODY POST IT wtf, do they have no taste? ;)!
2007 - RO fanart... again. I was working at an arts and craft store, so I did start moving away from digital media at this point, but not tons. The last image was my attempts to use some crappy markers. I was into the crafting scene here for ages and hardly drew to be honest.
2008 - Traditional drawing coloured by hand. Fail. lol. Then the Anthros came and took over my art life. I've ahrdly drawn humans since. I moved to FA because I was losing touch with Deviantart. I also had some emotional ties with people there which I needed to sever, so it made sense. Felt a bit crap artwise, but thoguht I'd give the furry scene a try. Surprisingly I get into it quite quickly and it was a lot of fun :D
2009 - Here we are... not much to say really but I started using SAI only. I dont use photoshop anymore, I don't like it at all anymore! I think I've improved in small ways, more in techniques and anatomy than anything else. I think the last two years of being part of the community has really served to hone some of my skills as an artist, and I really love being a part of this place.

Least I wasn't the only one who <3ed RO, I've spent some serious amount of time there playing with my friends. I think it's actually fair to say it was my first MMO, and I was incredibly loyal. Least until I found Perfect World and Dungeons and Dragons Online. Needed something new anyway, RO gets stagnant on faster paced servers. OH! And I'm seriously jealous, you were good even seven years ago!
I STILL play RO. ;o; I was so loyal for years on official servers but the GMs are atrocious and the leveling was jsut ridiculous. It took like a frigging week to level at level 80+. Highest I ever managed was level 83 or 84, I forget which :< I was on Lokie on official servers. I never got anything great. It was stupid. I hated the way you could only do the "end game" stuff and get good gear or even use Alchemists/Blacksmiths properly with a whole guild behind you. That's Korean MMOs for you though, notorious for their time input and grinding. I don't understand how people can stay with it so long.
It was my first MMO :) After that I played WoW. Have you played Gramd Fantasia? That game is seriously good for a free MMO. The graphics are adorable. I only jsut started it but I really like it :) It's 3D so that's great.
Well, If this meme went back to when I was 12 you'd be able to see more of a progression. I look at these memes from younger people and their art's improved far more than mine ever did, I was a slow improver.
It was my first MMO :) After that I played WoW. Have you played Gramd Fantasia? That game is seriously good for a free MMO. The graphics are adorable. I only jsut started it but I really like it :) It's 3D so that's great.

You are more loyal than I could be, those official servers drag like no one's business! I couldn't stand that grind. A little grind is okay long as it's backed by quests for people, then it feels more like favors or helping out the world of RO but endless grinding? Oh heck no. I was on Project RO for quite abit then found a faster server when Project went down, Xile, but there's little quests and once you get somewhere in the range of 100 it is back to the grind. You get a decent chance to check out the different characters though which is nice. That and you could wonder around almost everywhere long as you're careful.
I've never played Gramd Fantasia, I may have to check it out, cept that I have Perfect world and DDO going with my boyfriend currently, I'm not sure I want to add a third to the bunch, I rather like sticking to one thing.
I swear it's not that you're a slow improver it's that the younger generations have what we never did, the whole wide world of the internet to be their teachers offer advice and show how it's to be done so that younger one's progress fast these days.

I was on Xile too, now I am on RebirthRO I think. On iRO i had all character slots full >.> only 5 ffs! More slots plz. I had sin (77), alchy(73) (full potter -.-), priest (83/84), hunter (79/80) and a sage (73). x_x I really wanted to rebirth ;o; baaahhh and cuz of the slot resrictions i never got to play the newer classes properly, but on the private servers I've played em all now. I always loved priests though, in WoW I play resto druid and priest the best, i seem to be a natural support/healer in all these mmos.
I totally understand what u mean about sticking to one mmo. You never seem to get anywhere unless you focus on one. Thats my problem, I cant focus on one main character either. I get bored easily. I like to play different classes and try different things. Someone mentioned to me I needed to try that new mmo Aeon but it sounds like RO but even harder and slower to grind -.- so no thanks!

*Thinks* I have and I'm not sure on levels so I won't list them but they were all reborn, lance knight, katar sin, hunter, full support priestess, alchy battle, Gypsy(so hard to solo)I think in that order of preference too :3 My preference was definately for my lance knight, I loved to get a big crowd of monsters going and just zap em at once with my AOE type skills. Or the sin with his rapid blow or the hunter with the eagle, very fun.
I can understand not being able to focus, I'm like FOCUS *Intense* But my boyfriend likes to go all over the place, it's a touch frustrating to me since it feels like I have to make a new character to match or help his new character grind whenever he does that, but ah well. I heard Aeon is really pretty however other then that I haven't heard much on it, it was horrible on opening day my one friend had to sit in a queue for HOURS to get in.

I miss you too ;3; Work has been killer. Feels like I've been doing nothing but ~_~; At least now with the holidays over, I should have more time freeing up. I'm finally starting to finish some commission work!
