Ladies and Gentlefurs, You've seen a few of my Aussie Rules Characters for the FAFL and you've seen my Quarterback for the UFFL in Tyron Appleby but today, I introduce you to 3 of my drivers in Furmula One. Let's have a look at today's podium.
In 3rd place from Tremblant-Conda, Marlin Fortier of France. (right)
A former Furmula 2 champion, Marlin is currently in his second year of Furmula One and has joined the historic Tremblant team from Canada who have been in the sport for most of it's history and has been home to some of the best of all time. While they have been on a downswing in recent years, Marlin Fortier along with his teammate, Chander Redstone of Brazil have been a bright spot for the team in 2019 with the team consistently in the points and Marlin even scoring a 3rd place finish in Spain. Marlin is a rising star in Furmula One and while time will tell if Marlin will ever be a World Champion, The young White Wolf has a lot of talent and a lot to prove.
In 2nd place from Longtails-Furrari, Trey Goodwin of Australia. (left)
Driving in Furmula One since 2013, Trey Goodwin has been a dependable driver who has been Happy-Go Lucky since he has arrived in the championship. Starting off his career, Trey somewhat struggled with inferior equipment as do most drivers who have their start with a minnow team at the back of the grid. However, After a few great performances in said equipment, Trey started to move up the grid into better cars from better teams. He's become a bit of a journeyfur in the sport but he has been treading upwards. This Year, He is at Longtails who have the potential to provide a top car. Trey himself has had a decent year with a 2nd place finish in China the best finish. The Australian Dingo should be on the grid for years to come.
And In 1st place from Scuderia Maranello-Furrari, Domitila Da Costa of Brazil. (centre)
Now in her prime and one of the older drivers on the grid, Domitila Da Costa has been gridding her way to the top since 2011. The fiery vixen was hellbent on getting to a top seat and challenging for what she has dreamed of since her days in Karting, Becoming the first Brazilian Furmula One World Champion since the late AbĂlio Mata in the early 90's and to continue the lineage of great Brazilian World Champions. It took a long time, a few podium finishes here and there and lot of great driving but finally, The Vixen finally got her wish, A seat with the most prestigious and most revered team on the grid, Scuderia Maranello. The only team to compete in every season of Furmula One. Da Costa would now get her chance to prove that she was the Best Driver in the World.
Domitila started her tenue at the Scarlet Team with a 3rd place finish in a Wet and Crazy race in Australia. A good start but Domitila would need to get herself on the top step if she really wanted to challenge for the championship. Her opportunity would come in China as after a brilliant drive at the front, Domitila would claim her first ever win in Furmula One and the Vixen was emotional, Thanking her pit crew and the team itself for giving her the opportunity to prove her best. She would follow that up with a 4th place finish in Spain and while Monaco would end with her in a wall before the end of the first lap with her championship rival due to a mistake by said rival, Domitila is right in the fight. Currently 2nd as of the posting of this commission with 65 points, With 15 races to go including Domitila's Home Race in Brazil along with the fact that there has been 4 different winners in 5 different races. It's due to be a classic season but will it be the season that Domitila reigns supreme?
