This is my share of a trade with
Fengyesang
Since he not only did his share but also drew me a fantastic new year's gift I figured I'd try to make this one look special!
I love his art style, and he does seem like a rather inspired artist. So I thought this is the sort of place he'd go to to get inspired and draw a lil' ^^
He's a pretty talented artist still kinda new to FA, so go check his gallery and you won't regret it!
I'm really glad with how everything turned out in this one. Hope you liked it too, and happy new year! ^^

I think that style would match your art pretty well. Just try to start with easier stuff, like scenes without many 'props', and work your way from there.
Heheh, thank you, but it's not that difficult, really ^^'
Once you start fiddling around and trying new things you'll be amazed at what you can achieve and how fast you can do it.

It did come out pretty good though, and that's how we start! ^^
I usually like to compose backgrounds, though. This one, on the other paw, looks pretty much the same as the reference I used. Had a hard time messing about because of the perspective and all XD
But using reference is the best way to start!

You should try referencing for more, then XD
I had the same line of thought, and could never get my backgrounds to look very good, until I finally started using references in a deeper scale.
I've just started a picture with a pretty neat background, but won't be using reference for this one at all. I wanna see how it comes out (Though I have a ridiculous amount of time to finish it, so it probably won't come out good anyway XD)

Fantastic piece, I'm a sucker for a nice view. :D
Ya particularly won me over with the mountaintop peeking out through the cloud cover. Gives the whole scene a nice sense of atmosphere.
I'm getting a bit of an "Eastern" vibe from this one, though I can't quite put my finger on why.
Regardless, kudos! :D

Thank you very much! This was fun to do, though I did have some trouble with parts of it... I actually restarted this picture from scratch about three times before getting the basics right.
And the eastern vibe is what I had in mind. I don't know why, but pretty much everyone commented on the 'eastern' feeling, so I guess it's a wiiiin! XD

I love the background, I take it its supposed to be like the mountains in China? If so you did a fantastic job, if not its still a wonderful and fantastic scenery and a great picture overall. I really like the dusk or down sky you did, the blending of the colors is great, and you got the cloud wall and misty mountain peaks perfectly.
I'd say for sceneries follow the principles of 'Ma', the Japanese concept of 'less is more'. The more shape you try to convey the more artificial it'll look. Focus where you should, and let the other parts be interpreted freely by each viewer's creative mind.
