Imperial Guard Sentinel is copyright to Games Workshop, as is Warhammer 40,000, Imperial Guard, Cadia, the Imperial Aquila, and everything important you see in this picture.
Earlier this year, a friend at work (
holydude ) approached me to do a model for him. He'd bought himself an Imperial Guard Sentinel, but neither had the confidence, the time, the skill, or the space to build the thing. Ironically, around that time I was aching to work my skill at building models again, and was desperately looking for something interesting to build (damned Gundam 00 models are fugly as all hell to me).
So now, the project's completed, and I must say, I'm rather happy with the design. My friend wanted it to be in Cadian colours, but he liked the look of the Armagheddon Iron Legion 'Tank-Killer' Sentinel (what with its Plasmagun and all that), and asked if he could have that. I saw no reason not to, but I don't think it'd technically be legal now, as at the last minute I learned I could also slap a Krakmissile onto the left 'shoulder'. I'm not sure if this is a violation of GW Sentinel rules, but you must admit, it gives the Sentinel a bit of added oomph in addition to its deadly Plasma.
Normally on a Cadian Sentinel, the cockpit is slightly more open, and there's not the little doohicky on top. Also, the gun would be either a Lascannon or a Heavy Bolter (I think. Not like they label the friggin' things.) or a rocket launcher of some kind. Personally I like the Plas, because it looks just a little closer to a battlemech's arm, though on the Sentinel it kinda just faces forward with no 'elbows'.
I'm rather proud of my paintjob, as I lacked a spraygun or airbrush to do the camo. It still turned out for the best. Ironically the one paint I still need is fleshcolour, for the pilot inside, but he's not THAT important. XD and it's only for his chin, so it's hardly worth getting paint for.
My friend Larry was so exceedingly happy with what I've done that he practically THREW his Baneblade model at me... Ooh, I can't wait to work on that one. Thing's almost a FOOT LONG. For WH40K models, that's pretty damned big.
So yeah. Just putting this up for people to see. I'll put the Baneblade up eventually, when it's finally done.

Heh yeah, I know. But just remember, you get enough flashlights together... XD actually just makes a bigger spotlight.
I'm kinda glad they're upgrading the IG for the tabletop; from being a filler army with cheap, crappy units to something that actually can stand its ground. Same for the fluff.

I haven't had a chance to look at either one, so I don't know which one it'd be. I'd think the Militarum Tempestus, simply because the Astra Militarus makes me think 'Starships'. You know... Astra = Astro = space. I might be wrong; it's not like naming conventions are proper for 40K.
