Showing my process of concept to maquette to sculpting for a contest as well as for portfolio use.
Maquette is super sculpey mixed so that it's grey and not pink. Head and arms are sculpted over my bust and arms in ROMA Plasticine clay. :)
Haze belongs to me, do not copy, use or alter this or any other image of her for your own means, thank you!

A question, if I may. Are the portions of the digigrade legs that will be sticking out of the pant leg (from the hock downward) ALSo going to be latex cast? Like the feet and such? And I assume the tail will be, too. The fortunate aspect with those parts, though, is that you don't need casts to work off off--just sculpting, yes?
To say that I'm excited to see the finished product would be a VAST understatement. ^_^

The legs may have to end up being something more flexible, cos I want as little tearing as I have to deal with. The back fin will be latex, more than likely (cos I have some left) and the tail... will probably be something similar to the legs, if not then just latex too. The Tail will move as well. I just have to find a good material to use that has a good life (i.e. not foam latex...)
I'm going to be mostly working off the innards of the tail and legs that will make them move, so I won't need to make casts in plaster like I did for the head and arms, you are correct :)
Thank you! I look forward to wearing her when she's done too, lol.
