Why does the art meme that's going around start at 2003? That's such an arbitrary year! The majority of my artwork was produced from 1998-2002 (my highschool years), so it really makes things difficult for the meme.
I tried to pick out the best works that I had readily accessible, so the middle years are not the best examples because that was when I had my previous laptop and all those images are archived on some external HDD that I can't be arsed to hook up right now. I also tried to stay within the same time frame (May-July) for consistency, though the 2004 one is from October.
I considered just doing a Juliana timeline but this is a furry site so I tried to limit her slots. AS IT IS she took four of them in one form or another, AH YOU CRAZY HEADCHILD taking over my life for nearly a dozen years now...
Clearly, my only progress has been in digital coloring. I AM SO TERRIBLE.

I beg to disagree! o.o
you have somehow managed to keep a consistent style all your own through the years and manages to improve upon your work, without loosing the uniqueness of your work that makes it yours.
and actually, your hand shaded and hand colored stuff looks really good O3O

I knowwwwww! I wish I could still do traditional medias like that, all my favorite pieces are either shaded pencil or ink (and occasionally I did a good colored pencil piece). I wish I could have kept that up. That's what depresses me the most, knowing that I COULD do that once upon a time, that my older works really are better than my newer ones.
perhaps you work better on traditional media because you know you can't just ctrl+Z everything? I know its my crutch of doooom!
besides artwork is a constant WIP for artists. xD;;;
which sucks for people like me looking to find their own style. I just can't get a hold of one, but you have yours. so be proud of that. :3

I don't actually ctrl-z that often! I sketch and then clean up with the eraser tool. It's more the layers factor, perhaps? I don't know. Either way, I HAD a tablet and graphics programs back then, so it's not like there's actually any real difference between then and now. I just.. lost the touch, I guess.
