World of Warships Special Commission for Wolfbyt of his Utahraptor, Lex, posing in a classic pinup outfit aboard the USS North Carolina, the only ship of her class preserved following WW2 (her sneakier sister, the USS Washington was not so fortunate). The North Carolina is the lead ship of her class, and served throughout the PTO and earning 15 Battle Stars in that theater. Her Sister ship, the USS Washington, is famous for her actions at Guadalcanal, backing up the the damaged and disabled USS South Dakota by sneaking to within a dozen kilometers of the Japanese Battleship Kirishima before opening fire with all nine of her sixteen in main battery, and all twenty of her secondary battery on the engaged side. The two ships would serve throughout the pacific, providing effective Naval Gunfire Support and Anti-Aircraft Defense for the carriers they were assigned to.
During one of her first engagements, the USS North Carolina opened up with such ferocity, that the Yorktown-Class Carrier, USS Enterprise signaled the NC "Are you on fire?".
USS North Carolina is credited with shooting down 24 Japanese Aircraft, sinking a merchantman, and taking part in 9 shore bombardment operations. She can be seen today in her immediate post-war configuration, and sporting her "Measure 32" Camouflage Pattern.
