Honest first reactions. I like the other version much better and I'm not crazy about this one. Maybe after sometime I can get used to it and maybe like it.

hmm is it mainly the hair? or something else as well?

Here are my thoughts on it.

The hair is one thing. Not feeling it with her. I liked the long brown hair better. It made her look more like Mickie's sister where this looks like she's Mickie's friend on the force. Also, thinking about Nikki I don't like the contrast.

I don't like the tattoo for her either. Doesn't suit her in my opinion. Not that she would have a problem with them on others but I always seen her as thee responsible adult type. Like you and Mickie would tease her about not being fun just because she's so professional all the time. The reason girls like Violet would want her too loosen up and the reason why Art looked up to her. If she ever got a tattoo I think it would be something small and wouldn't be visible like that.

She comes off as the girl in the force that should be taking orders now and not the one giving them. I think she looked more sexy and intimidating with the other look.

Also going into the authority thing again, she looks younger here to me and I liked the look of the older mid-late 20's Mel.

One last thing to just add on to Smooths critiques (Of which I agree with pretty much all of them. Especially the hair part. Sorry Tiff. ) is that I'm finding Mels figure to be a little bit offputting considering her job.

I've actually met a number of ladies on the force IRL, and none of them have the type of hourglass figure that Melissa has in this pic. Compare to your previous pics of Mel: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19604143/, http://www.furaffinity.net/view/21593341/ Yes she has curves, but she's also obviously toned for that figure.

Specifically here: take a look at her right side. If you follow her body down from under her arm, initially its fine, but then when you hit the end of her rib-cage near her chest pocket it just hardlines inwards. Even Mickie next to her doesn't have that much of a curve in her waist, and it doesn't do anything to help in portraying muscle tone.

Unless her breasts are meant to be so large and unsupported they're literally stretching her shirt at the top: That is not a figure you get from being fit. That's the look you get from wearing a corset.

Wasn't that hard to find. Again, look at the right side: shallow angle from the armpit to under her breasts, and then immediately starts getting steeper.)

Put everything together and it's harder to see this new Mel as an officer then it is to see some random girl just wearing a costume and trying to look tough.

Mickie looks great, going to have to get use to the new short hair and color on Melissa.
