Pushing the pose

I will visualize a pose and then draw it out, but often I have to "push" the pose to make it better. started with the one on the left, and the right side one was the refinement. They talk about pushing the pose in animation, and it's good advice, because it makes the mood and intent of the character more clear. Give it a try. Pencil on paper. R U G G E L S / 2 0 1 9

I kind of like the first pose, but Asheru's face isn't quite right. Yeah, I know it's just a sketch, but she reminded me of one of the dogs a contact in Thailand has rescued.

I really like the idea of this (and how the drawings turned out). I will definitely try this in the future.

Aye, I've discovered a lot of art needs to be a "2nd Draft", "3rd Draft"...

Nicely done. The "re-do" does indeed look very dynamic and emotive!

the first one does look awfully stiff compared to the after picture, but I bet that wouldn't have been nearly as noticeable if you hadn't drawn them side-by-side like this, so I guess it really is a good exercise to do!
