I certainly appreciate the compliment. Some day, I'm hoping to be able to work on a game of my own design. As for what happened, I loved the Guru, myself, so I tried to show as much respect to his awesomeness as possible.

I think how you wrote him off was, I think, the only way for him to go. Leaving on his own terms.

Just what is confusing me is did he past in Murray's dream or in the race, or was the race the dream?

And what I mean by in his dream, I mean in the dreamtime with Murray.

Well, dreams are inherently "fuzzy" when it comes to logic, but the way I had it in mind while writing was that the race was what Murray was dreaming about, and the Guru used the dreamtime to insert himself into it in order to see his former student. From there, he nudged things so that Murray would see what the Guru wanted to tell him about and say his goodbye. Hope that clears things up.

Ooh, you weren't kidding, it does get dark. But wow, you handled it masterfully. The transition was so believable. I enjoyed fine little touches, like the realization that the Guru was talking, and the way you made use of the concept of subconscious metaphors inherent in dreams. Good work!

Thanks, and yeah, one of the parts I liked doing in this section was how Murray didn't know he was dreaming at first. That and the very ending of it. I knew I was going to take the Guru out of the story, but it was going to be on HIS terms.
