Fan art of Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood!
"Hell huh? Oh they've seen hell. Both of them, and plenty of it." Colonel Roy Mustang about the Elric brothers
FMAB is currently one of my favourite stories of all time, nonfiction and fiction. The show definitely struck a chord with me when I watched it. As dark and depressing that the show got, there was always a glimmer of hope and the characters would keep on going despite their losses.
The Elric brothers are characters marked by pain, hopelessness, and loss. And Edward's definitely more prone to succumb to their shared anguish and suffering, but he "puts one foot in front of the other" and keeps on going, eventually discovering that his useless hope was well worth having.
