Name: Kiadan Slywyth
Species: Ris’War (Space Dragon)
Age: 19
Occupation: Ship’s Mascot/troublemaker
Personality: ADHD and childlike, constantly on the go
Appearance: Kiadan has the unique pleasure of looking like a tiny dragon that’s purplish in color. She is tiny and generally only wears a special collar around her neck. Kiadan can also become as black as the night’s sky.
Height: 13” (standing on back legs)
Length: 33”
Wingspan: 3’
Weight: 8lbs
History: Kiadan’s history is a bit convoluted and even she doesn’t know all of it. Like all of her people, she started out on the planet WRa’Raw with her family before her people were abducted and put through genetic mutations and altered fundamentally from what they were. Once being bipedal creatures who could fly if they so choose by flapping their wings. Now there are no more “true” Ris’war only the current population. This happened many years ago and Kiadan’s egg wasn’t hatched until a few decades ago. well after the bipedal nature had been supposedly bred out of the race.
It was something of an accident that Kiadan was hatched. Her egg was sold to a collector and the transportation was faulty and allowed her to incubate and eventually hatch. The collector was gravely annoyed that Kiadan wasn’t an egg but he still found uses for his new pet. Drilling into her that she’s only good to be a person’s pet.
Always a tad childlike, because pets are supposed to be whimsical, she escaped and met another of her kind. This Ris’War declared that Kiadan was the preordained Ris’War but the young dragon didn’t really understand it at the time and so ignored it for the ramblings of a poet who'd gone crazy.
When she celebrated her tenth hatching her special powers manifested and Kiadan began to believe she was a preordained Ris’War, she didn’t really know what that meant but she’d find out. Her power was the ability to become a being of living space and to jump through shadows. There was nowhere she couldn’t get now. In short order, she found herself on the Discordant Saint as a stowaway. She was made the ship’s mascot and developed an understanding of computers and programming. And has been a pain in their collective hides ever since.
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral with Good Tendencies
Special Abilities:
One with the Void: Kiadan can become a creature of living space, allowing her to survive in the vacuum, communicate and generate intense cold. She is also not blinded by unshaded starlight and can see in the blackness of space.
Jumper: The shadows love Kiadan and she can jump from shadow to shadow or run through them with no noise. She has been known to jump from up to 50’ away from one shadow to a person’s shadows.
Flight: Kiadan’s wings allow her to fly at the speed most humans can sprint. Like sprinting for a human this does tire her out.
Prehensile Tail: Kiadan’s tail is able to grip light items and carry them.
Flaws:
Attention Span of a Gnat: Kiadan either by nature or nurture has a very short attention span and often can’t be counted on for much.
We Must Collect the Shinies: Kiadan hordes things, but not anything of value. Oh sure she has a coin or two in her “horde” but it also consists of shiny screws, spoons, and buttons.
Hands Off: Kiadan doesn’t fully understand or respect property, so she’s constantly taking things from others, but again not anything that would be considered useful.
Prankster: Kiadan thinks she’s a master prankster and doesn’t know when to stop… and because of this, she is also very easy to distract with the planning of pranks.
I see the messages: Kiadan believes that the TV is actually filled with informational videos and can’t tell the difference between fact and fiction.
Skills:
Computer Hacker/Programmer: If you can focus Kiadan she is actually very gifted in computer languages.
Poly Lingual - Kiadan speaks and understands Trade 1, Trade 2, Trade 4 and Trade 5
Zero G - Kiadan is a master of moving in no gravity and suffers no ill effects for sudden changes in gravity.
Secret: Kiadan can turn into her race’s age-old bipedal form, she just doesn’t know how to trigger it for more than a few minutes.
