MS paint is actually really good for spritework, and it's free, so it's not as though it's completely useless XD I'm sure there's a worse art program out there...
That's usually how I add clothing though; start with the body and work up. That way you get the underlying form right. Though I don't bother shading until after, usually. X3

You're right, I shouldn't be so harsh on MS Paint... I'm just biased because I like the GIMP so much more. X3
But anyway, that's a very interesting technique! ^^ I never thought of drawing a full body first and then adding clothes afterward, but I think I'll give it a try sometime. Thanks for the tip! =3
