This poem is dedicated to the most important person in my life, my dear boyfriend and mate, Barak. Without him I would surely fall and in his arms I hope to soar through the heavens for as long as I live.

I love you, Barak, and this is for you.



On Strong Wings

On wings once strong,
I flew through the sky,
Unnoticing of that around me.

Then suddenly the thunder crashed
And the lightning struck my wings,
To cripple me and reveal the storm
I had so ignorantly ignored.

And so I plummeted,
Aware of the time I'd wasted,
The chances I'd lost,
The lonliness that would never be filled

And so I fell
Never to fill those voids.

But before I reached,
My bleakest end,
An angel fell on guilded wings,
My hero from on high,
To save me from my guesome fate.

He caught me and brought me
Back to the sky,
Above the storm and wind and rain,
To bright sun and clear blue sky.

And upon his face,a gracious smile,
A tender look to melt my heart,
All to say he would fill those void,
And stay with me.

My wings are still broken,
Yet still, I fly through the sky,
Because my angel carries me through
On his strong wings.
