Boy, I wish I could play this ! One day... I should start practising, so that day come soon, but I need to be able to play Das Wohltemperierte Klavier first, I think at least.
Would it be okay if I gave a little critique on the engraving side of this? (the piece sounds excellent, and I can't find anything to say about that except for 'I love it!'),
as the notation here is a little confusing (to me).

The pedal markings are a bit close (especially on page two), a suggestion I can give is instead of using the pedal and star to show changes,
use a bracket (it seems that you're using finale, I've used it a bit, and there is a bracket tool somewhere there) and make it look like this:
_______________________|___________________________|____________ etc. (I think that if you can find this sort of writing in many scores for piano)
And when you have the longer crescendo and diminuendo on page two (also up to three), it's a bit neater (in my opinion) if you write cresc. or dim.
Maybe even use a 'simile' indication if you're going to repeat the same pedal markings for a few bars
But I say, let the engraver think of that! Anyway your version is clear enough, but it looks a little crammed (I'm sure one can still sight read it easily)

Well, I don't have any of those programs (only used finale a little bit when I went to check it out at a store!), and this looked similar, but anyway, the program is essentially a tool, if you can't write music no computer in the world will help you!
I still do most of my work on paper, it's jolly good fun (though seeing mistakes is quite difficult), I sometimes use lilypond to engrave, since reading my handwriting is a bit difficult (especially if I have to perform a piece or record it)
It must be nice to have a program perform for you, I have to get a sampler and play all the instruments separately for my compositions
(which is why I can't record and upload my nicer works, too difficult for my skill level at the clavier)
Hey, when did you start making music? (just curious)

I've been writing music for about a year and a half now. Been taking piano for 9 years.
I *always* write my music down on paper first. I can't start a composition solely on the computer. It's just aggravating. I prefer to write out all my ideas onto paper first. I like to structure the piece based on the form and themes I want to use in each section of it, then I add accompaniment.
I personally hate using the computer to write music. It's frustrating hearing the digital sound of the orchestra or piano or whatever solo instrument I'm writing for; I like to hear it the way I want it played, not the way the software interrupts it. I'm glad I go to a small school; I can take advantage of the students and teachers there and use the orchestra to record my pieces.

That's quite a lot of piano! I've only done two years and a half, before that I didn't do any music, of course, after I started all that changed, now I can't get enough!
I've been composing for about a year, sadly I live in the middle of nowhere and I can't get any theory lessons (I found a few books to learn from, they're ancient, but good, I guess).
*high five* I can't compose on computers euther, only engrave (I even orchestrate on paper!), though I need to engrave or I can't record my own pieces, as my notewriting is a little messy.
As for the sounds, I hate them, but I can't do much better either (at least I perform via keyboard sampler and record like that, but it can't compare to real instruments)
here the only two professional musician play rather unconventional instruments (one is a lutenist and the other one plays the harpsichord, both virtuosos, but will only play period/period sounding pieces).
Well you're incredibly talented, and I really want to hear more of your work, so I'll wait patiently. Keep it up!
