"You , who travelled to this place , hear deeply the place you are , hear the voice of the brother of arms , hear our scream , hear our shot , hear our death , there we felt long ago , in this battlefield wich is forever our grave , under the mud as coffin , surrounded by poppies as plaque . you , who now there , remember us , remember our sacrifice , remember why we felt there , tell them that we , french , canadian and british soldiers are resting here , forever , in this flander's field where the poppies glow "
in June 1917 , the 3rd battle of Ypern , around Passchendaele been least as murderer as Verdun , taking a 500 000 soldier with it . felt there 250 000 british soldier , 260 000 german soldier , and a 15 or 20 000 french and canadian soldier , and about 40 000 of them never been recovered , probably drown in the mud formed by the shell hole filled by water due to the heavy rain , or vaporised by the incessant shell fall from the barrage fire from the german side .
i made this color to commemorate their sacrifice , long long ago , in this senseless and almost useless battle (8 km of front earn for a 300 000 allies lost , that's a poor reward compared to the loss ) .
it's probably odd to say that , but hope you like ^ ^
