1) Horns and tentacles

Derovan males have various horn shapes, and they are always smooth. If the horn ends facing forward then it’s a common trait, if it ends facing back its uncommon. Sometimes the horns can be pretty big in size, regardless where they end up pointing, this is a rare trait

The whole of the derovann species also have tentacles coming out of their head, always more than 4 and they are never either flat or thin, and so they don’t have dozens of them either. Normally the tentacles would grow at a similar rate, giving slight differences in length, this is a common trait. If the tentacles grow at the exact same rate they end up all being even, this is an uncommon trait, and if something in the derovann affects his growth, the tentacles will suffer this too, making them grow at odd speeds and giving them a significant length difference, this is a rare trait.

Frontal tentacles are also uncommon in the species, most time only one might grow but some have multiple, as many as 5 short tentacles growing forward, giving them the appearance of having “bangs”

2) Markings

The first image illustrates typical areas where markings would appear in females born with them. On a female the markings are a few shades darker than the main color, similar to her nipple color. Natural markings always have that sort of splotchy look to them and are pretty scarce around the body. Markings can appear elsewhere on them as long as they aren’t a lot.

The second image illustrates typical male markings, these have the same look as female markings but they are vibrant in color, fading off in the edges, typically they have 3 layers of color, all of them are analogous colors so you won’t see something strange like a green and pink marking on them. (Analogous colors are colors right next to each other in the color wheel) On the side you will see the typical color for a male’s body.

3) Tattoos vs markings

Female Derovann not born with markings will most times get tattoos instead, these are thin and angular and can be made in 3 different ways. A single color, the cheapest kind, gradient, the medium expense type, and metallic, the most costly of the three.

4) Colors

Derovann are a very colorful species, males are pretty strictly colored but females can be any shade at all, even pure white (note that if you want to add natural markings to a pure white one they need to be a light grayish color like blue gray or pink gray) Although this last color is rare on them. \

Albinos on the other hand have different traits, most of them are born with natural markings, they have white eyelashes and they are always a light creamy color. While hyperpigmented are always a dark shade of gray, almost black but not quite. Black sclera and vibrant eye color, they also are almost always born with darker markings

5) Traits

In males, it is common to see sharp shark-like teeth along with sharp claw-like fingers, these traits are rare and uncommon respectively on females. Also on their eyes, having a second layer before their pupil is a rare trait. Also remember, females with tattoos also paint their pupils the same shade



EXTRA

-Females dress in either regal clothing with metals or long flowing silks like Kanoran or in sleek, tight, futuristic outfits

-Males show off some skin too, proudly displaying their scars and dress with metal, black leather and strips of broken/frayed cloth the color of their markings.
