So we're pitching in with my parents to build a multi-generational home that we can share, so we can split some costs and they will have some extra eyes and hands when they need them.

Back yard view - I'll be so happy to finally have a covered porch for our Texas summers!

It's amazing how soon houses get finished. At first it starts and it doesn't seem like anything happens for the longest time. Then one day progress really picks up.

Looking nice. However I cannot help but wonder why people build their houses from wood despite knowing what a tornado is goind to do with that.. Why is stone such an uncommon building material for private homes in the US?

And yes, i am from Europe, so I really have no idea.
