New house under construction - bricks!
So we're pitching in with my parents to build a multi-generational home that we can share, so we can split some costs and they will have some extra eyes and hands when they need them.
I absolutely love this brick color - all of the variations. Squee!

May I offer a piece of advice? Get a cheap pump up sprayer and some Borax, 20 Mule Team or any good brand. Mix the borax with water in a concentration that will still spray through the sprayer and spray it on the exposed wood that you don't intend to paint. I'd treat it every few days until the sheet rock is hung, especially in the kitchen and food storage areas.
Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have licensed pest control come in and spray some potent pyrethrin (bug spray) to the inner walls before the sheet rock is hung as well. Won't last a year or two but will repel spiders, mice and kill roaches and ants.
Once the outer walls are on, get some Boric Acid powder and put a thick dusting on the wood near the base frames between the upright 2x4s. Best to do this before the insulation is hung.
Totally too expensive to do but really worth it if you intend to keep the house for decades. Before putting down borax or whatever, paint all exposed wood with epoxy marine paint. Water damage is usually what ruins a house, mold from water leaks, bad roof leaks and flooding from plumbing or mother nature. Imagine having a toilet overflow, would you rather have that sewage soak into that unprotected wood or just bead off? Imagine a roof leaking and the water not soaking into the plywood. Painted wood boat hulls can last decades immersed in salt water but a 2x4 left in the weather will warp and rot within weeks. Just something to consider.

And now I have this song firmly wedged in my brain, thank you SO much. ;)

Still, I hope this project of yours goes off with only the barest minimum of hiccoughs.
