Back in 2007 I created my Second Life account and some of the first furries I met were the folks from the Rocket City Furmeet community. RCFM was the Rocket City Furmeet convention's presence in SL and one of its heads was Lacy Musketeer. My memories of Lacy are of a snarky, sarcastic woman who while not always super-social was fiercely protective of the furs in her community. She could be generous when the situation called for it but she wasn't someone whos bad side you wanted to get on. While we didn't always get along I learned a lot from my time hanging out with her. After a long time of not having spoken we ended up connecting again on Facebook but sadly before I had a chance to really get to know her again she disappeared. Earlier today I found out that her health hadn't been the best and that she'd passed away due to a heart attack. It's made me terribly sad both because of our not having a chance to reconnect more and because of the impact this has had on so many people. RCFM has helped a lot of furries find themselves and get through many a rough time. There's been a lot of fun and enlightenment, too and it's just a sadder world without her in it.

While I regret taking so long to upload this I'm grateful for having known Lacy and know that the positive effect she had on me on a person has helped me be a better person to others. Thanks, Lacy. Rest in peace.
