Devlin was eaten by the armor, the slime wrapping him, coiling and tightening around his body. "Mpph!" It felt warm, inviting and scary at the same time. 'Join with us', it would tell Devlin, and the skunk began to melt into it. He had already escaped once, struggling in vain for hours and days as his previous slimy cocoon worked his tired mind and body over within its grasp. He had thought himself free once a stray dry crack in the seal allowed him to, over a period of hours to purchase freedom. Then he ran into the knight.

It seemed a misshapen, maligned mass of slime and eyeballs that squiggled and slurped around the underground. It wasn't until he made contact that the material seemed to form up, rising larger and more imposing than his otherwise demure form. Warped and bent eyes glowered on him as it grabbed him up with slimy feelers and tendrils that coiled and wrapped around him with a foul odor. "GRRPH!" It squeezed on his every limb as he was drawn into it, the originally distorted and oddly goopy mass turning into a more solid body, large, powerful, daunting. His mind numbed as it grabbed him, feeding him information. 'You are needed', it said 'I will take you, and together we will destroy the light'.
