Welcome to the Velvet Room...Eh, I mean, welcome to Inaba, a friendly lil Japanese town where you get to hang out with your classmates, go to school and the mall. And as an extra, we get you some mysteries to solve and give you some fancy summons, too. PERSONA!!! XD
With your colorful bunch of high schoolers to form social links with and lots of crazily designed dungeons in the world of the 'midnight channel' you'll not only find the solutions about why there are people hanging upside down from phone poles but you'll also come into learning more about yourself and your dudes.
Have Shiny in a Yu Narukami cosplay, everybody. Personally, I think Shiny might probably be more like the loud and often a bit sillier Yosuke Hanamura who just like Shiny likes to go to the mall and to listen to music. But nontheless I find it always fun to see Shiny in costumes and my dude Bryant was in the mood to draw him that way. =3
As I tend to do, I wanted to add some editing on top of the friendly digital drawing, so I took the designs based of "Persona 4 - The Golden" (PSVita) and "Persona 4: The Animation" into account and the result is now more vibrant, I hope. =D
Of course I wanted to keep the original outlines of the bust, so I didn't switch any of that up (I just resized the arm a little and also completed the rest of the full body shot). But I traced the lines to give them a more prominent nature, added details and colored outlines for a small selection of details and created a background for it all.
It was a lot of fun to paste shapes and to try to recreate the game/anime's feel and marry it with some Pokémon flavor. Of course I couldn't leave out Shiny's mark of recognition: the ♪. And to reference Bryant who drew the original, I added in a Mew's silhouette how you see it for the main characters in its original PS2 game intro.
While I must admit, that I never played the games, I definitely enjoyed the anime series of Persona 4 a lot and still hope that in my country there will be yet a release for both the anime and perhaps a Nintendo switch port of the game (ATLUS, come on! <X3). Story and characters are all really sympathetic and what I've seen gameplay-wise makes for a really unique and cool JRPG. I pretty much can say that about all the games of the franchise though. All cool from 3 to 4 to 5!
And something I especially enjoy, is the soundtracks! Love the songs all supermuch! "Reach Out To The Truth", "Pursuing My True Self", "Shadow World" and lots more! So totodily cool! X3
Anyways, it's as always my pleasure if some video game and anime fans like me will get a chuckle out of my submission and if you wanna check out Bryant's art, he'd surely be happy about your input and might even draw you a request for leveling up his artistic social links up with ya. ;3
[b]Have a Beary hug from your Teddiursa yet! 🐻
(really, I somewhat feel like Shiny could have "The Star" as his tarot sign just like Teddie either ♥)
Lineart belongs to wolfofdarknessandlight (wishing you the best wherever you are nowadays)
Edits as well as Shiny by myself
Totodile, Mew and an upside down hanging Eelektross belong to Nintendo/GameFreak/ThePokémonCompany
Yu Narukami's design, Shin Megami Tensei and Persona 4 belong to Atlus Co., Ltd

I honestly like both lots. Stories like such work so well because of the interplay of dramatic and lighthearted parts in the plot. Sometimes it's also just really emotionally relatable. Like I'd say all the confrontations with theri Shadow-selves were really impactful.
D
efinitely enjoy the characterization and growth of all the protagonists and it inspires me somewhat for my character work on Shiny, too. Could even imagine what it would be like if the lil fella would have to face his inner Demons which might look like some ferocious and scary giant Feraligatr-esque Monster. Afterall, Shiny has somewhat of a conflict within himself about what growing up means to him...Ah, I digress. <X3

It was a bit complicated because I can't really sit in front of my PC properly at the moment, hehe. Had to pull stuff out and spread it all on two stools. But wanted to keep my promise and thank Bryant for it. Would be cool of you to also check his version and perhaps sending him a request. He is eager to draw to get exercise right now. ^_^
And yush, whole game has that going for it. Each of the "Persona" titles has quite the sttyle and colorful identity. Heck, they went a step further by introducing some rhythm games which have all the main characters dancing and performing on stage which looks even wilder. But glad you enjoy it, MC! =D

You must have heard about it if you are talking about Smash Bros. at least, which by any means is the crossover of the most reknown and popular franchises.
I thought if you write a reply, you'd at least be somewhat positive and tell about the art at least...Sorry if I find that kinda remark a bit disheartening. <:3

Honestly, Waluigi to me is a worse troll character than Piranha Plant. Not even Wario wants to have any connections anymore with the guy in his own series of games. Before even thinking of putting him into any other game, the guy should seriously receive some work. All that hevstands for so far as chatacterization goes has been a nasty slightly natcistic nature which came from Next Level Games' small character animations in their sports games.
Piranha Plant was included by Sakurai because he simply had fun being creative with animating a Plant, which sure is a feat considering the results.

Yeah, the songs in the series are really nice. Most of the games also got anime movies and shows alongside them that to a great part take over the songs from the games. You are likely to find a bunch of catchy songs by listening to the various Persona soundtracks over on YouTube.
Ah, that's an interesting question, Alex. Shiny is a very cheerful lil fella so I could imagine that he could give people eitehr some buff effect or positive status. Some dudes also suggested that since Shiny's element is water that it could result in either an aquatic shield to protect from incoming stronger attacks or a big splash of an elemental attck. Though I've read Water as an element only exists in the first two Persona games, they still are a thing there. =3
Well, Personas gain new forms and powers based of the social links you form with people. They usually fall under the line of a socalled arcana which is like a sign in the tarot cards that are used to predict peoples' destinies. Aside from that, when you beat a Shadow, it can reveal itself being a Persona. In Persona 5 you tend to meet Personas and try to convince them to follow your command. Sometimes you converse with them and basically win their respect that way. Some are more rash and want you to show your power and dominance by firing a shot. It can be silly at times. X3
Thanks! I like to dabble in things like photo editing and trying to capture the style and idea of interesting things. Adding touch-ups and colors to images and sketches by friendly people is always something I always enjoy to do. It's one of the ways I'm trying to put as much effort into what people did by sharing their time and sentiment with me. ^_^
Glad that it's to your liking. I am always happy to not leave it at it whenever I receive a generous doodle. I hope to show every of them with something colorful and fun added along. Always finding video game character designs and promotional artwork cool so it is nice to try and capture at least a little of theat feel within my mere edits and playing around. =3
And I agree. Shiny is always lovely when put into costumes and outfits. 🎵

It's an edit of the game's official art, yes. I made some changes like filling out one corner of the image to not have the cliff above the hole that was originally displayed there, changed the colors of the neckerchief and Totodile to match Shiny's design. =3
Hi there. I guess you are asking why there hasn't been new submissions. Well, mostly because I've been two times to a hospital and in medical treatment because of a leg accident. That as well as various family matters on my side that kept me busy. I'm still currently trying to catch up with my messages.
That said, you are still likely to find new things related to Shiny via FA search and I will resume to sharing stuff myself once I am done with all my art feedbacks and message replies towards the people who wrote me in the past few months so kindly. ^_^

Hi one more time, Tyler. I know who you are still. Was wondering if you might return with a +watch on my profile or something else. But amusing to see you posting here again. I hope you've been well. =3

Thanks for the praise! It's mostly thanks to the generous drawing that wolfofdarknessandlight sent me, using my Totodile mascot when they were in the mood to draw that particular character cosplay.
