Oh! I replied to you? I MEANT to reply to the guy who was like "WAH! IM NOT READING ANYMORE IF A BAD THING HAPPENS!" when the story has definitely made itself clear that it's not just some jolly can of happy times for TF lovers.
Death has happened in-story already. SURE we'd all love our favorite characters to stay alive, but like in real life with real loved ones, sometimes bad things happen. It's not confirmed if Elim dies, but IF he does, he won't be completely gone. He'll certainly be around one way or another, and at the very least, in our hearts!

Nope! It's one thing to express the hope that a beloved character won't die. Your comment was absolutely innocent!
It's a whole other can of beans when you make childish threat because the writer/artist of a comic didn't make it YOUR way!
No kidding, if Elim dies, I will legit CRY, but I won't stop reading. To feel that sort of heartbreak over a character that doesn't REALLY exist is a big deal, and I look forward to how Valsalia's future plans for the cast regarding this potential tragedy.

I'll just put this RI~GHT here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-1-eZt-ZY8
Well now, you've got me nervous! However, I'd like to believe the light-hearted tone of the story thus far won't abandon us here! I honestly don't know how Kassen would manage the loss of Elim on top of everything. If I had to suppose what the pause was, I'm going to put my money on the idea that it isn't a greater injury inflicted in the fight, but a pre-existing wound from his time long ago with Kass. If I'm right, I look forward to the additional backstory and learning more about their history, if I'm wrong, ...Elim, Kass needs you in her life to walk her through this. Fight on, and don't let the light fade to the nightly winds!!
Hm. Well, that's a darned mystery, ain't it?
I'm not buying the "Elim is a girl" or "Elim is turning into a Yinglet" theories, but I'm not sure what to expect myself... SOME sort of poison is possible, but its been a while and if its only just taking effect then that seems like unusually forwards thinking for a scav.
Perhaps he has some other complicating, pre-existing condition... maybe he's picked up a parasite? Or there's an old wound that makes treating this one tougher?

I think people have just gotten too accustomed to flimsy TF excuse scenarios! Not only was Brakka trying to straight-up murder a dude, but in the comic canon the "TF magic" appears to be a CLOSELY guarded secret that Brakka probably shouldn't have had in the first place.
Getting ahold of some slower-acting poison variant (rather than the near-instant Exploding Zhing that started this whole mess) seems unlikely.

Also, realistically, Elim did an awful lot of fighting and running around after being injured, it simply could be that everything in there is sliced up and perforated, fecal matter everywhere, something for which 'This' is an adequate medical summary. As in, already dead, just still moving around.
Vizlet had better pray Elim survives this. She knew Brakka was involved, and that he was dangerous, but kept her mouth shut in hopes of dealing with it quietly on her own. Kass would probably try to kill her the next time they saw each other... but that would be far easier to deal with than whatever the Trademaster does in response. Annexation, burn the enclave to the ground, something else? Who knows.
Um, what exactly Vizlet has failed to do? Ivenmoth already has Lopin's desription of Brakka (and even Lopin himself), knowing Brakka's name wasn't going to be helpful. The Brakka himself wasn't in the enclave and not in any way under control of Vizlet.
I doubt that even Kass would have such an irrational reaction, much less Trademaster himself.
And also: annexing the enclave? Who needs a bunch of fekking scavs?

If they'd known Brakka was out there, then maybe Kass would've had one or two more escorts. At the very least they could have had their guard up while in the city - Brakka and his gang wouldn't have had much of a chance without the element of surprise, given how Elim dealt with them despite having a shiv stuck in his gut. And I don't think the Trademaster would take too kindly to one of his men being murdered in the street by a scav, even an exile. The relationship between the enclave and Ivenmoth is already delicate, and that would give Salia justification to do whatever he wants with them. Maybe not a takeover, but nothing good, that's for sure.
Except no one knew that Brakka is around for sure (it's not in the comic) and everybody knew he could be around (Ran has written and propagated Lopin's description). Justification/pretext is another matter but that assumes Viracroix has some other reason to want to do something with the enclave. Actually blaming Vizlet would be highly irrational in that situation and neither Viracroix nor ran are depicted as such.
It seems like either you are yourself (IRL) upset by stabbing and want to blame someone for it or you're misunderstanding Viracroix motivation/personality when you're trying to predict how he would react.

Vizlet's spymaster told her that Brakka was involved, and there's no reason to believe that he'd left town. When they met at the nursery, simply telling Kass to watch her back would've been enough.
Viracroix's reaction is unclear, but it won't likely be pleasant. He's already shown himself to be pretty ruthless under that genial facade of his when it comes to challenges to his authority. A gang of scavs murdering one of his redcloaks would be a form of that. Of course, we don't know if anything like that has ever happened before - we saw a random citizen getting mugged by a Yinglet gang, but that's it, unless there's something on one of those lore pages I'm forgetting.
I think you're reading a good deal more emotion into what I've been writing than I intended. The possible death of Kass' emotional lifeline is troubling to someone who's invested in the story, sure, but I was merely speculating on what the ramifications might be. Regardless of what happens, I think it's safe to say that Vizlet is on Kass' shitlist after this.

In any case it's not stated anywhere in the comic that hey suspected Brakka would be still in the city and if you want to say "of course they would have to suspect that" explain why the same would not apply to the Ivenmoth house itself.
While you may be right about Viracroix' response to challenges of his authority it is not clear that he would interpret aforementioned stabbing as such challenge instead of "shit happens" (which does not mean Kass would not receive increased protection). At most I can see pretending to be enraged to wheedle some more concessions from the enclave - but with the eye to what it can get him instead of how it can hurt the enclave or enclave's leadership. Gain (to himself), not punishment.

I think it's a reasonable assumption to make, but IMO.
How Viracroix responds comes down to how he views those working under him. If they're extensions of his own authority and power, and to attack one of them is like attacking him personally, then he'd absolutely come down like a ton of bricks. Implying he'd go straight to a Yinglet purge was hyperbole on my part - but he'd definitely use the threat of something like that to take Vizlet for all she's got.
Guess we'll have to wait and see!

What? A new page in 4 days? Is this a real life?
I have no idea what to think about "this", no theories seems to be a good fit so far.
On the other note now it seems like everyone is holding their breaths. When Elim was shanked most people in the comments responded with denial (oh, he'll be fine) or anger. Now it seems like people are truly unsure what's going to happen and I love it.

Elim was bitten by the knife, now he's cursed, cursed to become the knife!
Knife Kamen! The streets run red, with justice!
Patrick Boivin says: "Man, look at all the biocurse up in this shit."
Woolie Madden proclaims: "Ghosts ain't shit!"
And other lore references!
Knife Kamen! With music by Stabbing Westward!
Knife Kamen! He gon cut a bitch!
Knife Kamen! His stand is also called Stabbing Westward and it turns more things into knives!
Knife Kamen! He can't actually move on his own, he just turns into a knife!
Knife Kamen! Seriously, somebody needs to pick him up and start shanking, where's that big bitch with the brawny stabbing arms?

The Lord of Ivenmoth takes immense pride in bestowing the badge of honor upon Elim Dorelga for actions above & beyond the call of duty in defense of his charges vital to the furthering of our civilization. Recruit Dorelga adroitly stepped into harm's way & prevented the abduction of Special Officer Kass. His calm & reassuring demeanor throughout the savage attack of innumerable assailants reflects admirably upon himself & the guard of Ivenmoth.

Worth keeping in mind is the possibility that Elim survives the encounter... but is effectively out of the comic / narrative for the foreseeable future. For example: Treatment of the injury may leave him incapable of performing his duties (or, depending on severity, even leaving a bed for prolonged periods of time!) for some weeks / months. Or he could fall into a (multi-)week coma. Or so-on.
That said, death is very much a possibility. Elim has, to degrees, filled his narrative "role", and if anything his death / removal from the picture would only further to exacerbate the other members of the cast's "Out-of-Place"ness: Kas losing their best friend and closest link to their lost humanity, being the chief example, but a lot of the side characters we've followed have been fairly grounded by his presence too.

And the flags within the city of Val Salia flew half-staff that day.
Not that that reflects my personal view of what could happen. In fact, I have fallen into the trap set by every good writer and that is to have the audience not knowing what is going to happen. Recently, I've been basing my judgement on how, I guess I would say, light-hearted the page is. I'll just say it like this: I think you would know better than to make a joke out of beloved character's death. In this page, the closest thing I see as a joke is the head surgeon's sarcastic remark to the nurse. Although, it comes off as that's just him. He's not trying to be funny; he's just stating a discrepancy. Either way doesn't matter because I'm a little unsure if he will or will not die.
Ever since Elim got stabbed, I haven't really shown much concern for his character, have I? I personally have never lost a loved one, so I never felt like I could sympathize with others facing the consequences of death. So, if Elim dies, it's not like I won't care; I know how much it would matter to Kass. Kass's and Elim's friendship has been expressed greatly throughout the whole comic, and, through a time of need, Elim has been the bestest friend a friend could ever have. Kass already feels like he's lost his humanity and to lose his human friend would be symbolic in a way.
But anywho, don't think I don't know what your doing. Your distinct absence from the comments tells me you're completely devoid of giving any reassurance to viewers or any witty remarks on top of that. If you feel the need to reply, just slip me a note so you can keep the illusion that everything isn't the same. ;)
