IDK if you know/remember Ihmi but basically they're huge furred creatures that have pale mask-like faces (and they were the beast-like counterpart to the anthro animal race "eli".)

im sorry, i thought i had read something that said they were based off characters from a movie (being furred and masked) and now i realize no such note was made in your comments. i have NO idea where i got that from.. i must have been very tired last night ha!

Oh, and I've probably been inspired by a number of things...
Like No-Face of Spirited Away for starters... But I'm not sure where the thick coat of fur came from! XD Though I did have some earlier concept with a white mask-like face and thick black fur... (which I was never particularly happy with)
