Another design from last week's batch of new stuff.
This one works with eye glasses! It’s always good when I can make more neat masks that I can wear myself.
I tried a new method to maintain the overall structure/shape, by having the base rest on the upper lip instead of molding it over the nose. The outline of the eye opening dips down to give a notch for your nose to fit into. It works pretty well; the mask keeps its shape way better than it would without that connecting piece. The downside is it would look weird on a mask that was just a single piece that gets molded over the face. (Plus, it does feel odd on my mustache, though I’m willing to say that’s a silly complaint when it makes aesthetics work out better.) I’ll probably use the scheme again on masks that have projecting added-on pieces like this beak that conceal the nose. Something like a snout or muzzle could probably work with this technique.
I have some more photos up on my Twitter and Tumblr, check those out if you like giving artists more views and reblobs. Gotta make that number go up!
And of course, it's for sale on my Etsy shop.
