Thanks to all my amazing commissioners. Without you this snake would still be in a terrible situation and suffering from neglect and improper care.

it shows multiple photos of him and of some of his health issues.
So this beautiful snake had been living in a 'cage' (a cabinet) which he could not properly stretch out in. He didn't have a hide, and the space he had to sleep on--without a heat source mind you-- was also where his waste was. I witnessed him sleeping in his waste for a week(went to see him, a week later and the same waste was there under him), by what I gathered from the owner his cage was cleaned about once a month. This has lead to scale rot. The owner also admitted he hadn't been out of his cage for about 8-12 months, and his cage also inflicted multiple cuts and wounds on him.
So, another thank you do all those who made purchases this last month. He'd still be living like that if it weren't for each of you.
Also, if you'd like a pet, a fairly cheap and low maintenance pet, consider getting a snake! The set up in the beginning can be pricey, but after that it's a few bucks a month for food. There are plenty of reptiles out there that need good homes, yours could be one of them!

wonderful looking and wonderful personality! he's not been handled in about a year, and he is handling it extraordinarily well! he's still a little scared and startles semi easily, but he genuinely loves being out and hanging around, he puts up a giant fight when I try to put him back in--he craves the freedom!
aaaaaa! I'm hoping our ball pythons might breed this year, I think it'd be an amazing experience to bring up some snake babies! What's the biggest problem you've had to face with snake breeding?
Sad part is he wasn't at like an adoption centre, he was for sale as a healthy pet ready to go, I didn't realise how bad of a condition he was in until we got him back, I knew he was in a bad set up and I suspected he had a bit of scale rot developing, didn't see that big wound on his neck til we got him back and he was stretching in the air to check out his new environment. He had been for sale for a few months, and ugh, it breaks my heart. I wish she would have taken him to the vet or taken him to an animal shelter where he could get proper care and attention. But I guess if she never took the time to check him over she wouldn't have known 8/ euuughhh;;;;;
but yes, I'm glad he's in a better set up, and I'm going to do what I can for him! hopefully it's enough and he can thrive! (he's seeing a reptile guy tomorrow so we'll know exactly what's up, our other snakes haven't had any issues apart from a scratch from rubbing them branches too hard lol, so I'm not well versed in scale rot and the severity levels. )

Ah man Dumeril's are amazing, very beautiful and unique snakes. Also dig the bit of burrowing they do !
I don't know the exact companies that made any of our vivs, this boa is being kept in a second hand viv that's aprox 4.5/5ft in length, it's pretty wide and has good height as well. We got it from a reptile shop we frequent, one of our other vivs is second hand that we got off a site called preloved! Depending on what country you're in, there are reptile sites that will sell vivariums that are delivered but because the price is higher they are delivered for free. as for Dumeril substrate, I'm not an expert by any means, but something like Lugarti's natural reptile bedding - Link should work really well, and it's really cheap. Bonus? No impaction fear!
