My young dragon Rakid is having fun pestering some local griffin just for the heck of it. He's going to get scratched in the face, I fear.
This is the first time I properly drew a griffin, yay! I've drawn some sketches before, but I've never bothered to do anything more complex than that because I don't have any griffin characters myself.

I generally think that repeating textures look kinda bad... I guess it depends on the texture, though. Wrapping the texture around the dragon wasn't much of an issue. I spent more time struggling with layers. I don't think I will ever learn not to color over the lines. I wish there was someone out there who could teach me how to create neat and sharp colors. Like some of the popular artists I've seen in FA... My stuff looks awfully smudgy in comparison.

I'm not degrading anything or rubbing anything all over anything. I didn't say something stupid like "This should be a pee pic." All I did was say something jokingly and you went overboard and freaked out because of it. Now take a moment to think about how pointless this argument is.
You're assuming I'm arguing, when I'm giving my perspective.
You made the initial comment, which was blatantly "awww, and here I was expecting a piss pic, and all I got was this" enough to make Pi react similar to myself. So, you dragged your fetish into this comment thread, and I'm calling you on it.

Thanks! :D
You know, just the other day I went in a book store saw this horrible book about how to draw dragons. The dragons were so badly drawn they didn't look anything like dragons. I can't believe someone had managed to print and sell this kind of crap all the way to Finland. One of these days I'm going to make a tutorial book of my own simply because someone has to save the kids from these abysmal "how to draw" guides. Kids aren't stupid. They and their dragons deserve to be taken a bit more seriously. Dragons aren't just round blobs with sharp teeth and pitiful triangular wings that couldn't keep them airborne for a second.
Woah, what a rant. I got carried away!

i know what you mean. ever since my childhood i've been disappointed by how to draw-guides and crappy tutorials. especially those for mythical creatures are usually just a bunch of shit. if you'd ever make a real how to draw-book that would be more than awesome! there are,as you said, lots of talented people out there and all they'd need to improve is some kind of a helpful tutorial. i always wanted to make my fantasy into pictures, and when i failed i stopped drawing dragons and griffins and all that for a very long time. things like that shouldn't happen to other kids. there can never be enough artbooks out there.
so yeah...go for it!
if i had kids,i'd buy them your book so they could learn from a good artist.
