I didn't even know they them!

They bring the rare characters out once in a while just to brush the dust off so to speak. :P And sometimes when they promote the new released of their classics and old films. :P

I was hoping to see Robin Hood there, but never got the chance. :(

I once saw The Sheriff of Notingham one time and that's a rarity as well. :P

Not sure if they were replaced or not. I just think they put out several different characters every once in a while just for differences in meet and greet areas.

Nope Skuff is correct, Kenai and Koda have been replaced by Thumper and Miss Bunny as of last October I believe. Now you can always see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald/Daisy, (Chip, Dale usually in the mornings), (Terk, Poccahontas, Meeko are usually later during the day) and the bunnies.

Pretty much what happens as far as characters go, we have out who we 'think' are the most popular. But if a certain character is asked for multiple times they will 'think about' letting them return for MG's. So if you want to start seeing those old faves, next time you're there go to any store/guest relations and ask them to call the C.H.I.P. hotline to put in a request. It's not a sure thing, but at least they will know people want to see them still. :)

Ah. I see. I usually thought they do rotations for each couple of months to bring in certain characters just to keep appearances and such.

I know about the CHIP hotline. It's usually use to see if any character a guest asks for is around somewhere. I was a cast member myself. :P

What's an MG?

Naw, they just go by how popular they think the character will be/is and by the number of requests they receive. It's a shame really, in a sense we loose that nostalgic Disney we grew up with.; but at the same time new characters keep new people coming to the parks.

[Not meaning to be all-knowing, I just work in Entertainment. ;P ] (If you ever worked near toontown at MK, if you know of the smoking location by the train depot, behind it is a great place to "sometimes" meet Robin Hood and harder to find characters.)

And MG is a meet and greet.

Ah. I see. I just thought it's rotation just to keep appearances. But, yeah. It does suck that some of the older fans don't see their favorite movies of the past bring up, but newer characters do bring in new guests and fans to the parks.

(And do you mean in the Judge's Tent? Because they have a line that leads to a surprise character in it. But, I'll do keep that in mind. ;) )

I'm an attendant, mostly at MK but frequently DAK when I can pick up extra shifts. Friends with plenty of our characters though. :)

Judge's Tent is just Mickey and sometimes Minnie. But if you go past Mickey's house and around the corner to the left is the smoking location then a sort of circular area with a tree in the middle. Sometimes you will find a bunch of characters (often harder to find ones) around. Check it out next time, it's not an advertised MG spot but if you catch it at a good time there are characters out.

Cool. I always wanted to be a character attendant. I think I can do better than merchandise. :P

And really? Last time I was at Toontown. There's this merchandise store in there and there are three lines that go to each type of characters. One leads to Mickey, one leads to the princesses, and another leads to other types.

But, cool. Next time, I'll travel down to Toontown and catch that place. :)

The County Bounty, they have the Hall of Fame. I think that is what you are referring to?

They totally gutted those rooms, it used to be the Pals room (combo of either Minnie/Donald/Chip&Dale/Goofy or Pluto) the Winnie the Pooh room and the Princess room. Now it's *gags* the Fairies (Tinker Bell and friends) and the Princesses. Unfortunately though, Toontown is being scrapped and turned into an extension of Fantasyland starting sometime this year.

They unveiled the plans at the D23 Expo last Sept. I think there are some videos on Youtube that have information pertaining to the project. Its going to be cool, but it sucks that Toontown will be wiped off the map. (Kind of reminds me of the plot in 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit?') Alas, WDW Toontown was only supposed to be temporary anyway. :(

And really? Huh. Well, I guess the princesses and the fairies need a place of their own for meet and greet.

And wait. I heard they're only extending the northern part of Fantasyland to create a new ride and a meet and greet place for the princesses. I didn't hear anything about removing Toontown off the map.

Ah, yes--the "teardrop". Robin is there, now? I miss seeing him right at the base of Main Street at MK. You were pretty much guaranteed to see Robin Hood characters there during 2006/2007.

Oh--was going to add--sounds like Toontown Fair will be going away in 2011. Wonder if that will include the teardrop and where the new secret MG will be--if any.

Exactly, the 'teardrop'. :) Yup, poor old Toontown's days are numbered. Oh well, they've already pretty much kicked all the toons out these past years anyway. Not sure, but from what the plans look like there will be a lot of new areas for MG's.

Robin Hood characters use to be regulars at the start of Main Street during 2006 and 2007. Every time I went he was there. Guess as you/Tamatha are saying, they've rotated them elsewhere, now. Bummer.

Last time I saw Robin Hood at all at a MG place was at Epcot on the then Double Decker Character Bus. And that was at 2005. Though, several other Robin Hood characters were around the Main Street entrance at MK. But now, they are no where. Though, at 2008 when I was at WDW last time. I was told that Robin Hood usually shows up like a few times a week in Epcot at the UK Pavilion. I tried looking there this year. No such luck.

Is it Miss Bunny or is it one of Thumper's sisters? The colouring seems more correct for the latter. Miss Bunny has a more yellowish tone.

I never heard of that one. Mayhaps that's a Disneyland Paris thing.

Oh yep they don't really do that often,
it was for the 10th anniversary of Disneyland Paris , they brought as many characters out as they could for a parade / photo at the castle :)

That sounded awesome. I wanted to visit Disneyland Paris one day.
