Shortly after Steamfox and Millie take leave from the S.S. Athena, the two decide to spend a plesant day in early summer sunbathing at nearby Long Beach. Mr. Foxy had to dig in the "Slop Chest" in order to find a bathing suit, and it looks like the outfit is a bit "Dated."

I'll say I don't think they wore that type of suit last cept in the early 20's and 30's. Swimming trunks and such becoming popular after WW2, in the 50s and beyond.

Hence the brand new 1948 Dodge in the parking lot, and the use of "California" instead of the more recent "CA" abbreviation. The "Steamfox" comics take place in a world of technology from just after WW II to 1969 or then abouts. What some consider, "The Twilight of Steam."

LOL Back then in olden times of Muskoka (where I live) women had to wear these long swimming dresses when swimming in the lakes because they were not allowed to be like they are today, if you know what I mean.

Really? The 'Gents wore hats to the beach? All I can think of was what they called the "Pork Pie" hat or a wide brimmed "Straw Boater."
