Meet Bael: a Robin Hood-like rogue from Kellendar! His family name is Tannerly and, being a tahvic, that comes first!
I just got this wonderful drawing of a race I developed called "the tahvic". It's part of my Skylands (Talvali) world-setting and they resemble sort of badger/ferret hybrids. It was created for me by Kelsey Liggett via her Twitter account after she posted this Tweet advertising that her commissions were open: https://twitter.com/KelseyLegit/status/1151618148363374593. You can also find her at http://www.kelseyliggettillustration.com. Her rates are VERY reasonable and her talent is perfect!
I've never had anyone draw a tahvic, before, and Kelsey did an amazing job!
Here's the description I provided to her:
"The tahvic have a large population spread throughout the world that befits their fast-paced, honor-bound lives. Stocky, barrel-chested, 3'-tall, brown (some, reddish-brown) fur with bilaterally symmetrical light-brown, tan, or black markings. These markings can be curved, short stripes; branching arcs; and even spirals or whorls; markings are usually inherited from both parents as an "average" between the two: with some dominant part of the pattern usually representative of family lineage. They possess dark fur around their eyes and possess tuft-tipped, round ears with the tiny tufts arcing forward from the top/back of each ear. They have ferret-like, slender-and-pointed tails. The tahvic possess narrow muzzles with bristled, short whiskers flanking the nose. Their mouths have slender canines with flat, omnivore's teeth to the sides. They possess sensitive, black pads on each fingertip and toetip, with a large, non-sensitive pad on the sole of each foot. They have no pads on their palms. Their eyes tend towards chestnut brown, amber, clay-red/brown, or black. They possess small, black claws, like finger/toenails on their hands and feet."
Talk about nailing it! I'm so happy with this!
(Oh, and if you want to read an older story of mine that stars a tahvic, you can take a look at my tale "Large Living"!)
