Darren and Dennis
I woke up from a rather pleasant dream, and got out of bed. I was on my way to the kitchen when a voice spoke in my head, ‘Morning, Darren. How’d you sleep?’
“Morning Dennis. I slept well, how about you?” I asked out loud, looking down at the Lucario-styled diaper I was wearing. Well, it wasn’t just styled like a Lucario. It actually was a Lucario, one that I had transformed into my personal diaper. He really loved being one, even though all he really could do was talk only to me via telepathy and use his aura to enhance my skills and senses. It must be quite a wonderful sensation if he’s content with staying like this for the rest of his life, because there’s no changing back for him.
‘I slept good. You kept on patting my face in your sleep, it was really cute.’ He responded as I prepared myself a sandwich, giving Dennis a few pats on the cheek.
I finished my sandwich after a bit and walked outside. It was a little cloudy, but still rather nice out. I stretched my rubber body and flexed my air-filled arms, showing off my “muscles”. I loved the fact that I’m a pooltoy Incineroar. The swagger, the squeaks, the strength. But if there was one thing I enjoyed over everything else, it was my definitely my giant, round belly. It’s so big and squishy that one could practically sleep on it!
‘Showing off again? There’s nobody here.’
“Eh, just want to prepare for when someone does show up.”
‘Alright then, whatever works. We should probably head to the public stadium and find someone to battle with. We’ll need some more Poké (Pokemon currency) for that beach trip you’re planning. I should really practice more on my aura skills too.’
“Sure thing, Captain Crinkles.” I tease, giving Dennis’s cheek a gentle slap.
‘H-hey! I ha… Okay that is a good nickname actually.’
I burst out laughing as he mentally blushed.
It was kinda unfortunate that he couldn’t physically express emotions, he also couldn’t speak to anyone but me.
There are plenty of other living diapers, not just Dennis. The thing was, he’s much more restricted than they are. He, like all other living diapers, was originally a natural Pokemon. It’s the process of transforming that made him different however. Most Pokemon pay to be placed in a machine that makes them a living diaper, but Dennis was different. We’ve been best of friends since infancy. We both loved diapers, and often tried to determine who was the better fighter. So one day, we decided to brawl to decide who was the strongest, and the loser would be the winner’s diaper for the rest of their life (it’s not all that bad, trust me). I didn’t have enough poke to purchase a pass allowing use of the machine though. So, before the match, I bought a cheap, off-brand product. A special transformative diaper that supposedly did the same thing just as good. I won, as you can tell, so Dennis put on the transformative diaper and was suddenly absorbed into it. But, when he finished transforming, he wasn’t as alive as he should’ve been. Other living diapers could talk, make facial expressions, and even use moves in combat! Dennis is no more than a mind trapped in a padded prison… because of me.
I walked us to the public stadium, it was the spot to do some Pokemon battles. Some matches were for fun, but most were for Poké. I walked up the challenger room to find an opponent. Preferably a difficult opponent this time, not someone thinking they could get an easy win off of a Pooltoy. Pooltoys like myself were very often underestimated for being “air headed lightweights”. That kind of knowledge is what often caused me to win a match. Even if I am pretty much all air and rubber, I’m much stronger than you’d think. I can easily make myself squishy, bouncy, firm, light, heavy, you name it! I do this by condensing or expanding the air inside me. It’s a nifty technique for Pooltoys, wouldn’t you say?
‘How about that pair? The Lapras diaper worn by the Plush Zoroark, they look tough.’
“Sure, I’ll go ask them.”
“Hey, Plush Zoroark and Lapras! Wanna battle?” I called over to them.
The Zoroark noticed me, but seemed to be contemplating something before responding. She then walked over and puffed up her fluffy chest. “You bet! I’m warning you though, Shoal and I are quite a skilled pair.”
The Lapras diaper, who I’m guessing was Shoal, nodded confidently.
“Great! Wanna battle now, or set a time later today?”
“Now’s fine with me.”
“Okay, I’ll set a room for us.”
After some waiting for a room to be available, our number was called and we walked together.
“What’s your name by the way?” The Plush Zoroark asked.
“Oh, I’m Darren, and this is Dennis. He’s… unable to talk or express anything.”
‘Can you please not tell everyone about that. It’s a bit of a painful topic for me.’
“Right… sorry bud.” I pat him as the Zoroark looked down at Shoal, she almost looked like she was on the verge of tears.
“You oka-“ “Shade! M-my name is Shade.” She interrupted.
“Sorry if I made you upset about something. Anyways, I think this is our room.” I say upon arriving at a room with a large, rocky battlefield.
“R-right, let’s do this.”
After setting up, the virtual announcer went over the rules.
‘When where there ever be an option to skip this part?’ Dennis moans
“I know right?” I say as Shade looks at me, confused.
“Who are you talking to?”
“Oh, Dennis. He has a telepathic bond with me.”
“Oh, neat.” She said, a bit depressed.
“Your diaper sure is quiet.” I say before the announcer began the countdown.
“3, 2, 1, BEGIN!!!”
I instantly started with a bounce to the side. I usually start with that to avoid surprise attacks from a distance.
Shade charged at me with a shadow claw prepared.
‘Darren! Behind you!’ Dennis calls as Shade suddenly distengrates and I’m knocked to one of the rock pillars from behind.
‘She’s a Zoroark, they’re able to use illusions! Keep a close eye on the shadows projected. Most of them seem to forget about that part.’
“Right… thanks bud…” I say, condensing my air to make enough muscle to stand up.
But Shade had already disappeared from sight. Instinctively, Dennis gave me his aura sight to find her.
I felt her presence and dodged to the right, evading Shade’s attack from above.
“Heh, impressive.” She said getting up from the ground.
“You are too.” I say before charging at her.
I completely forgot about Shoal though, and he fired a very powerful hydro pump. I attempted to dodge, but stumbled and fell on the ground.
I was prepared to get blown to the wall, but nothing happened. I also didn’t hear anything either, hydro pump is normally a rather noisy move. I got up to see Shade looking humiliated, with Shoal nowhere to be seen.
“Um, you okay?” I ask after an awkward moment of nothing.
She then plopped onto the ground and began crying. “You found me out… Shoal isn’t real… He’s just an illusion…”
“Wait, what? He is?” That must’ve been why he made no sound whatsoever and didn’t really do much at all.
“You can take me out now…”
“What!? No! You’re were about to whoop my butt! You’re the obvious victor here.”
“But I lied to you and tricked the people working here to allow me to fight with the pros like you. The rarely ever accept a Pokémon without a partner of sorts.”
She kinda had a point. I never really thought about it, but most of the Pokémon I see have a living diaper or some other kind of partner with them.
“But you’re a natural! Even without Shoal.”
“Who cares though… I don’t have any friends who are willing to change their life for me. I probably don’t have any friends at all.” Her woven eyes began to cry tiny, sparkling beads.
“What about us? We can be your friends.” I said, raising a paw to her.
“You’d actually be friends with me?”
“Yeah! Right Dennis?”
‘Mhm!’
“I bet we can even find a way to have you allowed in here!”
“You sure?”
“Of course! That’s what friends do!”
She sniffed and took my paw as I lifted her up to a hug.
“Man you’re soft.”
“Heh, thanks. You’re really squishy.”
We were walking over to my place for Shade to stay. She said she didn’t have an actual home, just an illusion in the woods to make her feel comfortable. I felt so bad for her, she had practically nothing. “You know, maybe you could wear Dennis for a bit, as a test run.”
“Sure, That would be nice.”
‘Umm… Dude, I’m powerless without you.’
“Don’t worry, buddy. It’ll just be a little bit.”
‘Alright.’
I unstrap him, disconnecting our telepathic bond, and hand him to Shade. She had a bit of difficulty finding the right way to put him on. But when she did, her woven face scrunched up.
“I don’t like it… He feels so weird against my fabric… It stings a bit too…”
I unstrap him for her and she sighs in a mix of relief and disappointment.
“I… I don’t think I’m cut out to wear a diaper…”
I strap Dennis back onto me, he seemed a bit offended by her remarks. ‘I’m not itchy or anything.’
“I think it’s because you’re bonded with me. You probably wouldn’t feel right on someone else.”
“I just found the whole diaper part uncomfortable too…” Shade said, nearly crying again.
“Wait, you may not be the best for wearing a diaper. But maybe you could be one for someone else!”
“You mean. I should become a diaper like him?” She points to Dennis, rather curious about this idea.
“Yeah! With illusions like yours, you’d be a top notch supporter!”
“Huh, I never thought about that. I can’t afford it though…”
‘She deserves this. We don’t need our vacation, she needs a happy life.’ Dennis says to me as I nod down to him.
“Well, we were going to have a vacation, but I feel you need this more. We’ll pay for your transformation.”
She cried again, this time out of joy, and tackled me to the ground. “Thank you! This means everything to me!”
‘Who will wear her though? She doesn’t have any other friends.’
“I might have an idea. Hey, Shade. It’s probably a good idea to find someone who will wear you first. I have another friend who’s searching for a partner, would you like to meet her?”
“Oh right. That would be nice.”
We later arrived at a spa meant for toys like me, and probably Shade too. A Pooltoy Floatzel walked over towards us. “Hello, Mr. Darren and Dennis. Is there anything I can help you with today?”
“Brooke, you don’t need to be so formal. We found someone who would like to be a diaper, and I thought she would be the perfect fit for you.” I nudged Shade, who seemed rather shy.
“H-hi, I’m Shade.”
“A pleasure to meet you Shade! I’m Brooke.”
“I… was hoping I could… be your diaper?”
“That would be awesome! I’ve wanted one for quite some time, it’ll be good to finally show those weaklings at the stadium the true power of a pooltoy!” Her whole demeanor changed from a gentle worker, to an intimidating fighter.
“Th-thank you.” Shade says, hugging her gently.
“No problem. I’ll meet you there after my shift ends.”
“Of course.” I nod and give Shade a friendly nudge. “Nice going! You excited for this?”
“More than I could imagine.”
We later met up together at the transformation station. Shade was a bit antsy, I can imagine why. After all this time, she was going to fit in somewhere.
“Okay, miss Shade. We have everything prepared for you. Are you ready to change your life forever?” The Druddigon who worked here said, walking up to us in the waiting room.
“I am.” She said, getting up and hugging us all before leaving with the worker.
“So, she managed to get in the stadium?” Brooke asked while we waited.
“Yeah, she had everyone fooled with her illusion of a Lapras diaper she named Shoal.”
“Impressive. I’ll be extra sure to do plenty of battles for her.”
“I think she’d like that a lot.”
“Miss Brooke, Mr. Darren and Dennis. Are you prepared to see your new diapered friend?” Druddigon says, holding something behind his back, which was almost definitely Shade.
“Yes!” Brooke bounces up, squeaking in excitement.
He then shows us a beaming, super fluffy Zoroark diaper.
“Tadaaa! How do I look?” Shade cheered, swinging slightly in Druddigon’s claws.
“You look incredible!” Brooke says as Druddigon hands Shade to her.
“Ready for the moment of truth?” I ask as Dennis mentally cried tears of joy.
‘It’s so beautiful to see a happy diaper.’
Brooke nods and straps Shade onto her bottom. “Does that feel good?”
“It feels great! I love it so much! This is amazing!”
Brooke hugged us as tight as she could. “This is the happiest day of my life!”
“Mine too! We’re in your debt.”
“It’s just what friends do.” I hug back, this was one of the happiest moments in my life too, and nothing could change that.
