Studious, intelligent and curious. Flux was the top of her class in school, from magic kindergarten to Celestia's School of Gifted Unicorns. A rivalry forming with other students as her confidence became replaced with arrogance which ultimately led to her losing a place as Celestia's personal student. Overcome with anger and grief Flux decided to further her studies into dark magic, hoping to surpass Twilight in at least one area.

Years passed in which Flux became adept in dark magic with a broad knowledge of summoning rituals, combat magic and control over the various elements. Her rivalry and grudge against Twilight has been suppressed in recent years but she still resents Celestia and her choice of apprentice.
