'Member this guy? Pete was the star of the first story I ever published to this site. I actually wrote a couple other stories about this guy, but never managed to finish them.
This, as it so happens, is one of those stories!
I haven't worked on it since the middle of 2017, but because it's organized as a collection of short scenes, I've been able to give it a quick polish for release in honor of Vore Day! I hope you guys enjoy it!

“yaaaw- WHAT THE HELL!?”
Startled, Pete pulled his head out of the junk drawer with an old TV remote still poking halfway out of his mouth, looking wide-eyed at his equally-spooked owner. The object-eating Scolipede, still waiting for his opportunity to feast, had been partaking in a late-night snack when his pajama-clad owner had strolled into the kitchen unexpectedly. This had never happened before; his owners had either never ventured out of their rooms during the night, or he’d been gulping down trinkets in a different room when they did. Apparently, his luck had just run out.
“Pete, wha… Are you…?”, his owner stammered.
In response, the bughorse just stared at her and swallowed the plastic device still in his maw, sending a rectangular bulge down this throat. His previous owners had called him a variety of names, but this one was the first to give him (by luck or by fate) the same one that he’d given himself, and it still threw him for a loop whenever she used it. Slowly, the shocked owner approached her gluttonous steed, who pulled back from the drawer and turned his head, bracing himself with eyes closed for whatever followed. What he was not prepared for was his master rummaging through the still-open drawer, pulling out a Rubix Cube and offering it to him. Slowly opening his eyes and facing the now-curious human, he used his jaw to take the toy from her hands and gulped it down, watching as his owner followed the lump from his head down to his stomach, where it disappeared without a trace. She fed him several more items one at a time before closing the drawer and facing her Pokémon.
“You thought I was going to punish you, didn’t you?” Pete nodded in response and looked down in shame.
“Well, I’m not. In fact, I... kind of want to give you more opportunities to do what you’ve done tonight.” At this, the Scolipede perked up and looked at his owner excitedly.
Yawning, his owner continued, “…but we’re going to have to wait until at least tomorrow, okay?” Assured by his nod, she began making her way back to her bedroom, stopping just before she left the kitchen and looking back.
“Oh, and please don’t eat any more of my stuff, okay? I kinda need it.” Smiling, she slipped through the doorframe and out of sight for the hungry bughorse, who stood there thinking. While he was happy following his current plan of moving from owner to owner and consuming all of their possessions, he decided to play along. Having been discovered, his only other choice was to run back to the forest to start the cycle over again. Besides, he was rather curious about his owner, who he later learned was named Sally, and her plans. What adventures would she bring him on?
…
The Clothes Store[/b]
One evening, Sally and Pete found themselves in front of a small clothes shop. They were on their way home when the window display caught Sally’s eye, who stopped to get a better look. Pete, naturally, used this opportunity to duck into a nearby phone booth and munch on the payphone inside. After a minute or so, Sally called to her Scolipede and made her way through the store’s front doors. Crunching on his last bite of scrap metal, the ever-hungry bughorse left the gutted booth and followed, ducking a bit to clear the doorframe.
“Welcome! Please let me know if you need anything,” the lone employee said from his seat at the register. Sally simply nodded and smiled, allowing him to return to the book he was reading. The trainer and her Pokémon had visited the store pretty late in the evening, and there were no other customers in sight. This suited Pete just fine, and he salivated as he scanned the store, which was chock full of a variety of shirts, pants, and other clothing items.
After they were a sufficient distance away from the oblivious cashier, Sally told her steed, “I’m gonna go look at their t-shirts. I don’t want you eating any of them, but everything else is fair game, okay?” The hungry Scolipede nodded in response, and she set off on her hunt. Meanwhile, the ravenous bughorse made his way to the pants section to begin a very peculiar kind of shoplifting.
Drawing a pair of jeans from a stack into his mouth, he began to gulp down the garments one by one, occasionally glancing at the front of the store to confirm that nobody was watching. Oblivious to how much he was consuming, Pete was startled when he bit into the shelving the stack had once laid on. Completing his bite and chewing on the clump of wood and metal, he decided that he needed to be careful; he didn’t want the store’s dwindling inventory to be noticed so easily. With that thought, he moved onto the next stack and began selectively devouring the various shorts and pants around him, only diverting his attention to the register a few more times before becoming confident that the minimum-wage worker was too distracted to notice the Pokémon gulping pound upon pound of denim and fabric into his maw and down his throat.
Leaving the pants section about half as full as it used to be, he then moved on to an area filled with various shirts. Pete was unable to read, but from the pictures on the walls above the section, he figured that this was the men’s shirts area of the store; since Sally would only be interested in women’s clothing, he could safely eat everything here. He proceeded to use his maw to grab various shirts and their hangers off the various racks and scarf them down, sometimes two or even three at a time, leaving only enough to keep up the appearance of being stocked. The shirt section blended into a suit section, and the ravenous Scolipede gleefully devoured the various tuxedoes, jackets and shirts, slurping down ties like noodles and biting through plastic and cardboard to eat prepackaged shirt-and-tie sets. He then moved on to the undergarments section, fitting as many pairs of underwear and socks into his mouth as he could before swallowing it all down and repeating the process. Making his way into the same section as Sally, he swallowed down a few long-sleeved shirts before noticing as she began to head towards the changing room. Grabbing a final shirt with his jaw, Pete followed, a single sleeve still hanging out past his lips.
“I can hear you out there,” Sally stated from her stall, giggling as she heard the sound of her greedy Pokémon slurping the last remnant of his previous meal into his mouth and down into his stomach. “That poor cashier could probably use some help cleaning up. Why don’t you check the other stalls and see if anybody’s left anything?” Following her advice, the Scolipede moved from stall to stall, eating the many shirts, pants, and hangers previous customers had left behind. Finishing his search before his owner was finished with her decisions, he decided to rip one panel off the three-piece mirror in the waiting area and consume that, crunching through the glass like it was a thin sheet of hard candy. As he was swallowing the last chunk, Sally left her stall.
“Well, I’ve decided what I’m going to get. Let’s head for the checkout.” Smiling, she tossed the shirts she’d decided against into the open maw of her ravenous steed, who gulped them down as they headed for the register.
As Sally was making her purchase, Pete noticed a stand with various accessories behind the cashier. Confident that the bored employee would have his full attention on the transaction, he snuck over to it and wolfed down various hats and scarves, finishing his final course by dipping his head into a container full of bracelets and gulping down most of them. With that, the bughorse finished his meal just as his owner finished her purchase, and they both left the store, leaving the clueless cashier with no idea that his store had just been neatly ransacked by his customer’s greedy pet.

The Phone Store[/u]
On a sunny afternoon, Sally decided to bring Pete with her as she went on the hunt for a new phone. As they entered their local [generic phone/tech or Apple store?], they were met with a large crowd. The latest smartwatch had been released a few days ago, and everybody was engrossed with the new technology. With most of the employees helping other customers, the pair decided to move to an empty isle filled with various phones. Sally picked up the first one in the row, weighing it in her palm and using the touchscreen for a second before making her conclusion.
“Hmm, this one seems a bit too heavy for me,” she remarked. The store was trying out “cordless” displays, leaving the phones completely detached from the counters so that customers could see how the devices fit in their pockets. Or, in this case, a hungry Scolipede’s mouth, who swallowed it down as soon as the cold metal touched his tongue. As her Pokémon send the rejected tech into his stomach, the trainer moved on to the next phone in the row.
“I don’t like the button layout on this one.” Another rectangular bulge made its way down the ravenous bughorse’s throat.
“Too big, I think.” Gulp.
“Screen’s too small.” Slurp.
“I don’t like this color.” Nom.
“Ooh, I rather like this on-“ “Can I help you two?”
Startled, the pair looked up at the employee that had rounded the corner unexpectedly.
“Uh, yea, I, er, had a couple questions about this phone,” Sally stammered, drawing the associate’s attention so that her steed could discreetly swallow the final rejected smart device.
“Oh, sure! What do you need to know?” As the representative looked down at the phone in her hands, the trainer glanced back and winked at her Pokémon. Scanning the store around him, Pete realized what his owner had noticed: All of the employees were now distracted, allowing the greedy bughorse to slip into the next unoccupied aisle, which was filled with tablets and laptops. Bending his neck down to the counter’s surface, Pete began his miniature feast, sending bite after bite of plastic and circuitry down into his limitless stomach. The fancier laptops had metal shells that crunched nicely as the Scolipede bit into them, which might’ve drawn attention if everybody wasn’t fawning over the latest and greatest wearable tech. Sending the last device on the counter into his gut, and not seeing any other unoccupied aisles at a glance, Pete nosed his way into an unlocked cabinet below that contained a box full of various chargers. Immersing his head in the cardboard container, the gluttonous Pokémon slurped up every cord he could find like they were spaghetti noodles, only pausing to draw in the power bricks as they reached his ravenous maw.
“Okay, well, I’m gonna go sleep on it and come back later. C’mon, Pete!” Hearing his name, the Scolipede withdrew his head from the cabinet and looked up at his owner, gulping down a final cord. Rejoining her, the pair left the store, confident that the mild chaos sustained by the crowd would keep anybody from noticing a distinct lack of products until they were safely back home.
