Casper the spoiled chick

My current adopted baby, this is Casper. He (or she) was hatched on Halloween so he got a fitting name. Despite our barn being insulated, every thing sealed shut, and having heat lamps running 24/7, its still cold out there. As in below 0F every night. So we brought him in for fear of losing him to the cold. He's a quarter Japanese silky so he's always going to look like he does in this picture, he'll just get bigger. I know he looks big in the pic but he's smaller then an apple and still fits in the palm of my hand. Unlike Nugget, since he's part silky all he wants to do is be held and cuddled with. He eats of course but heaven forbid you leave him alone for more then a few minutes; he'll start peeping like mad. Luckily he doesn't know he can fly yet (100% silkies fly like rocks) so he doesn't jump out of the box he's in but he'll figure it out eventually. I spend most of my time when I'm not at work carrying him around or sleeping with him under my chin. For those not familiar with silky, they are bred as pets and as such are big babies. As soon as you pick them up they lay down, don't struggle. As chicks they make a purring sound while sleeping and some adults do it as well. Another funny part is chickens have 4 toes on each foot, silkies have 5 toes on each foot, Casper has 4 foes on his one foot and 5 on the other.

Very spoiled.
ATM she's on my lap under a blanket to keep warm, sleep peeping. If you've never heard chickens do this, its a purr/trill sound they make when warm/happy/half awake. Thinking about buying a good feather duster to hang in the box so she can get under it at night to sleep.
I might take this post down in a couple days, not sure yet.
