Born from uncertain parents she was taken into an orphanage run down and impoverished and within the influence of criminal elements within the Monster Lord's Realm. An uneventful childhood until she reached 9 years of age where she became a snitch for the local gang. Eavesdropping and running information on possible places for thievery, people to shake down and such. By age 12 she was running shakedowns of her own to help provide for her adoptive brothers and sisters. And by age 15 she was running her fingers into the pockets of the local gangs.

What protections the orphanage had from extortion were removed but Marie one-upped them by having her brothers and sisters implant explosives within the family homes of varying indiscriminate gang members. (Unknowingly the mistress of one of the Gang Bosses)

When the orphanage was threatened to be turned over, Marie hoisted a flintlock pistol in air atop of a bunch of barrels and shot off a round before declaring what she had done. That she would order the inhabitants to disband with their plans, that Marie would no longer use the Orphanage as a shield or use her fellow orphans as footpads. That she would leave and make off on her own.

It was agreed upon but Marie would have to be taken in as she made a fool of them. She however aimed the pistol at the barrels and shot off the last of it's rounds causing a black smog to fill the streets around the orphanage, making her escape in the smokescreen.

She leads a Gang of Pickpockets, Smugglers, Thieves, and Acrobats. "The Grassblades."

She's a family-oriented squirrel with a bit of a mercenary personality. She longs to have security in the world by means of wealth and family which she has always seen from outside her bedroom window. Despite her kleptomaniacal nature, she hates dishonesty and those who deals dishonestly. Thieving to her is straightforward with what they intend. Whether it's at the end of the knife or behind the back of a pant's pocket. She finds killing unprofessional when it's unnecessary and hates when the unfortunate and poor are manipulated and used to substantiate greed.

She writes to the Orphanage often and sends them a good deal of money, never forgetting where she grew up.
