When the weather gets really cold and the snow is on the ground, outside gets much to chilly for a ferret to run around without the appropriate clothing. This is a little turtle-neck sweater we made for Juice. It was actually constructed from the sleeve of an old shirt that we didn't much care for anymore XD
The sad thing is that he was only able to pose for a handful of photos before he slipped right out of that thing like a bar of soap in an in-mates hand. We have since determined that he doesn't much care for clothing. Still, we insist he wears something every time we take him out in the cold.

Sadly, I cannot take credit for the name. One of my best friends conceived it. Back when little Juice was just a baby, we were trying to hold and cuddle with him but he just wouldn't stay still and he'd slip right out of your hands. My buddy said he was like a liquid, but not quite like water. More like juice. We loved the name so much, we stuck with it.
I know this is random but... You don't happen to have a pattern you used for this you would be willing to share would you? Maybe some tips on how you made at least?
I've only ever made teddy bear clothing (and they sit still well for measurements!), and some furry related items I've started working on (not to be revealed yet, haha). Bing as broke as I am making a sweater would be cheaper than buying (Sides I'm only finding junk for sale in stores and online).

I'm actually making bedding out of an old fleece sweater right now (I'll have left overs too!). Considering he does well in harnesses and collars I figure he'll do okay in a sweater, it's gotten cold enough for him to wanna just hide in my pocket on walks.
I figure if the fabric is drawn in it wouldn't be a huge deal... If he would just let me get a dang tape measure round him for half a minute! *Watches and waits for a sleeping not dead moment*

Dog sweaters involve velco round the front and around the tummy when I do them as it works far better than junk that slides on over their heads. The design is not useful for a ferret though.
Ferrets are also... built and move rather oddly- Working on something that'll stay on better.

Actually, a ferret is not a recommended pet for young children. Ferrets are small and very playful and this can cause two problems with young kids. The first of which is that they are known to bite during play and unless trained properly, can even draw blood if you are careless with them. The second reason is their high level of energy can cause a child to play a little too rough with them. Their long, tubular bodies are difficult to hold and most children will commonly squeeze ferrets tightly to hang on to them which can hurt them, or they will slip right out of the kids hands and fall to the ground, potentially hurting themselves. They're actually quite fragile, especially their thin, flexible spines. Unless the children are 8 or older, I would be weary of a ferret.
