This is pretty old school. Op-amps mostly. Not a single microprocessor!

Sounds neat. Also creates some interesting visuals on any player that uses a spectrum scope for visualizations. Even M$ Mediaplayer.

LOL! That arpeggio at the end reminded me of a 70's sci-fi flick. Awesome sound!

Not this unit, but the expansion unit certainly does.

Eh. Sorta both. Many of the boards I bought from Music From Outer Space, and a few I made from scratch using schematics. The boards were "unpopulated" meaning I had to solder in the components and wiring. The panels and case and power supply I made myself.

That wasn't ring mod (that's in the other expansion unit). It was plain old Frequency Modulation :)

Do you have any voltage mixers on there so you could add the two signals together to taste or is it just a second input on the oscillator? (Close up photos plz. <3 )

Not on this unit, or the expansion (just audio mixer on the expansion).
It is a second input to the oscillator (I had it plugged into a secondary 1v/oct).

Out of sheer curiosity, what kind of modules, and which frame format (FRAC, Euro, MOTM, Moog, etc)? I'm looking at getting my hands on a modular in the relatively near future and still can't decide between FRAC and EuroRack formats

This one's a custom size. 4 inches wide and 8 inches tall per module.

If I had to guess I would say that you have a 4-pole filter you are using. Is that a Moog clone 4-pole, ladder type 24dB/Oct filter? Ever consider some more organic OB style 2-poles in the future?

I like the lfo sweeps too. All around fairly cool sounding.

Do you have any tuning problems? I have seen a few DIY kits that borrow allot from some of the classic synths that had some tuning issues.

I am a huge synth geek. I used to Work at the Audio Playground synth museum before it closed. and by "work" I mean begged to paint, clean rooms for free.

It's a 4 pole Moog clone.
I have another filter which is a 2 pole variable state (hi pass, lo pass, band pass).

Tuning is a bit ticklish. Fairly stable over about 3-4 octaves (with each other), because of the temperature compensating resistors.

This one no longer exists. I put all the modules into one case.
