Talwyn is an axolotl steam-teslapunk engineer who enjoys spending her time tinkering with new and wonderous projects all the time. Talwyn endured a severe electrical accident when she was young which caused a chemical reaction in her eyes and causes them to glow a vibrant blue colour. She gets the last name Tinderbox as her main fascination is combustion reactions; basically anything that makes an explosion of some kind from steam to electricity to chemical! Much of Talwyn’s time is spent working on new innovations, thereby giving her a rather secluded lifestyle.
The primary project that Talwyn is working on is using electricity to electrically charge crystals and get them to react with the natural components in the air to produce a combustion reaction and generate energy. Her current prototype involves taking crystals infused with potassium and running a tesla metre nearby with a cable connecting to the crystal inside a holding container to electrically charge the crystal. After electricity has been applied, different concentrations of gasses found in the atmosphere are added to the container to see what types of reactions occur while also noting the amount of energy produced. She wishes to use this to power steam engines along with developing another source to generate steam simultaneously for powering machinery. This is to allow for a minimal amount of energy expended while gaining far more in return.
Some of other Talwyn’s projects include creations like steam systems to generate electricity, portable teslapacs, and light-up goggles for those with difficulty seeing at night. When Talwyn’s not busy working on her projects she spends her time reading Victorian fiction and admiring renaissance era art for inspiration. She also enjoys simply leaning on the edge of her window and gazing out across the bay, taking in the scenery while contemplating how things work or devising new methods to test her hypotheses. Caring for a crystal farm is another one of her past times, working on methods to quickly develop crystals for use in her experiments hoping that they are highly energetic; more-so than other crystals she can find.
Age: 22
Personality: A highly intuitive individual who looks at everything rationally, thinking of everything in that way. Understanding new things provides her much joy as it helps to develop her mind and possibly discover more of the unknown.
Likes: Anything steam or electric powered, especially using combustion reaction. Art and writing from Victorian-era England and the renaissance. Enjoys a nice cup of Earl Grey and snacking on fish biscuits.
Dislikes: Narrow-minded individuals. Overly bright colours. Coffee.
