Let the record show that, while Pyroar is the first mommy -- the official mommy -- the one who is called "Mommy" -- of Ray and Dory, she is by no means their only mommy. Purugly may allow herself to come off as a cold brute, but it's the worst kept secret in our family that she's actually sweet, loving, and very protective of the little ones.
Purugly: "Just getting my time in while I can. Once they're bigger than me, they're your problem."
Actually, if I had to choose, I'd probably say Purugly is the better guardian of the two. It's all thanks to that versatile two-pronged tail of hers. She can use it as a seat belt to keep the kids from falling off when they ride on her back, and if she has one of them in her belly and binds her tail around her body, it's impossible to tell they're in there at all.
Just, uh. . . Not at the same time, Purugly. You've only got one tail, so you can't be a safe ride and a great hide at the same time.
Purugly: "Pfft. Whatever. Don't rub it in -- it's only because of that dumb-ass saddle that you can multitask any better."
Dory: "Hey, as long as we're on the subject, why is it always Ray that gets tucked in first?"
Purugly: "Because he hates to wear a shirt, so we eat him first to get him out of the cold."
Dory: "Oh, okay." *smirks* "I was starting to worry maybe I taste funny."
Purugly: "Hell no, just the opposite. You've always got your little sister's delicious mouse scent all over you. All the more reason to keep you out here with me so I can have a whiff or a lick whenever I want."
