Despite their imperialistic intentions, the Teshkavan Empire know the importance of making a good first impressions. First contact especially is always a tricky thing, an alien culture knows little in regards to customs. The Teshkava arrival to Earth was the most viewed in history and the Captain knew he needed to both minimize his time on stage as well as ensure a good first impression to the denizens of Earth. A captain has the authority to make First Contact and to address a body of the species in a way that is diplomatically sensitive and based on the best intentions and information provided at the time. A draft of the speech was later released to the General Public in 2035 with the arrival of the first Teshkava diplomatic corps:
To the delegates of this body of United Nations and to the citizens of the Planet Earth, I am honored to be here as a representative of his majesty before this body in making official First Contact and its ceremonies with your species. I personally would like to thank the Secretary General as well as the Security Council for making this possible.
It must come as a shock to you to see something like me on this stage. An all too abrupt answer to the question of “are we alone”. This answer just begetting more questions about our customs and culture, about intentions and technology. We want to ensure that we get started appropriately.
As a stellar nation, we are eager to work with you as we see much potential in what humanity can become. For this, I have passed this to his majesty’s government for immediate review to set up a permanent diplomatic mission for Earth. We hope that this first speech is just that, the starting point for a foundation of mutual success.
As captain of the Kashnaka, I am eager to build and forge a friendship that can cross the bounds of heaven and look forward to serving, perhaps with you, some day.
