Uou is a natural hybrid, which can occur between two pokemon within the same egg group.
While this is a more common form of hybridization they are still extremely rare in Soreal.
Uou's mother was a Scyther and his father was a Beedrill.

He is considered property of the Hive Dynasty, which any children as rare as he is are almost always given up as gifts to the Emperor.
Uou has been trained from childhood to adulthood under the Emperor's faction of elite assassins.
He is what would would consider a professional prostitute, the equivalent of a old school oiran.
He provides entertainment as well as companionship.
This profession has allowed him to climb the ranks of the assassin faction rather quickly, as it provides him the means of getting very close to targets appointed to him.

He is very irritable outside of faction duties, his primary expression being a happy or upset buzzing of his wings.
The markings on his body or "tattoos" are actually carvings in his carapace, which are then inlaid with colored pigments.
He will shed them and get them redone in other ornamental fashions every half year.

He does not have eyelids.
He does have an insectoid mouth.
