We're talking about sex in psychology currently, and part of that is homosexuality. The book teaches it as it's not a choice, but a biological thing (it's in your genes ;o (bad pun, I know ;o)). Anyway, some girl was freaking out because she hated how much the book talked about gays/lesbians. I would've spoken up, but I'm a wimp when it comes to talking at all =\

I have to agree with my teacher that being gay/lesbian should be more of a 'ok, how does that affect me?' type of deal, not a 'OMG, you're GAY/LESBIAN?!' thing though. I can see why it's a big deal to gays/lesbians to want to tell your friends and family, but I think some make it WAY too big a deal and that's where some social rejection comes from. What I'm saying is that we don't need to be marching down the streets in boy-toy leather gear singing "it's raining men" to try and get respect and tolerance. I'm not accusing anybody of doing so, tis just an example (albeit extreme >.>).

lol, I should mention that later that day in study hall, the study hall teacher (whom also happened to be the psych teacher) was complaining about that girl and that psychology takes an open mind which she didn't have.

Tolerant means you are accepting of other things and can be friends with a fur who has different tastes than you. It has nothing to do with superiority.

I know too many people who abuse the "Tolerate all" rule both in this fandom and outside of it. I learned that tolerance is earned, not freely given out. Even then, it's more of a "I respect you but not the shit you're in" kind of thing. It all comes down to what it is that is in question of toleration. For lack of a better example, cub porn. The people who view it could be nice people, but that won't prevent me from saying "This shit is screwed up guys". There is no such thing as a person who can say "I tolerate everything", not even you. It's just the truth of the matter, because some people can be just too stupid/sick to deserve it.

Well you obviously don't have a clue of what the group is trying to do. It's not trying to force you to tolerate, it's gathering those that agree with 'if you don't like it, don't click'. So it has nothing to do with you, k?

That's more along the lines of "Pretend it doesn't exist" and turning a blind eye to rather then tolerance. Tolerance is acknowledging that something exists and accepting it for what it is. I suggest a name change to better fit the intentions of this group.
