50 Years ago, some magic happened
I wanted this up a few days ago, I only just managed to relocate this just now. Yes, its real and original.
50 years ago, 3 days of music, action, sex and lots and lots of weed and assorted illegal pharmaceuticals happened in Woodstock New York.
And I missed it!
My sisters and a couple friends of theirs got to go, cause we all had tickets, I was just a kid, My dad refused to let me go to this event and got pissed off at my sisters. despite they acquired tickets a couple weeks in advance at some record store.
I kept this ticket as a book mark for years and hidden away, its literally in mint condition. I would be informed later by my sisters that the tickets weren't necessary as the festival stopped taking tickets early on day one. I heard later what my sisters went through, the mess, the mud, lack of sanitary conditions, But the music and the mood.
And I missed it!
Part of me is tempted to sell this, I seriously could use the money.

I was the same age, I remember hearing about the hodgepodge of edibles, from to "What the hell is this we're eating?" to "okay, I THINK its edible, is this supposed to be some sort of animal product?"

The mud might've been fun to anyone who was a little kid then, and from what I've seen from videos, was entertaining to some of the more addled attendees (a fine point, admittedly) and pretty much unavoidable to everyone else. I saw a video one time of some outdoor multi-day concert that had gotten clobbered by a rainstorm, and some ofthe teenage attendees were encouraging this little kid (not that he needed much) to do bodyslides in the mud. He happily complied.
About all I can think of is what the smell must've been like. I was 9 when this event took place, and no way I would've gotten anywhere near it. I'm not sure I even heard about it until some time later.

I would have been a week or so old at the time. So yes, I was part of the sixties because I don't remember it.
I bet you'd get a damn sight more than twenty four bucks for that, even adjusted for fifty years of inflation. $167.78, the calculator says.

I was somewhere between 16 and 17, bought my tickets, took vacation time from work and a bunch of my friends and I piled into an old station wagon belonging to one of their mothers.
Damn thing blew a piston in Universal City, about thirty miles from home. No, we were not speeding or weaving, it was a 1959 Dodge Sierra Spectator with over 230,000 miles on it.

I saw photos of that field after the event and it looked like after a major battle took place, minus the bodies. The tons of trash those people left behind. Then again I recall after a major Dump Trump Rally which had numerous environmentalists speaking about saving the earth, the field was heavily trashed as well.
If you get the item graded and "slabbed" by a reputable grading agency, you can probably enhance the value, since any buyer would know precisely what they're getting from a (theoretically) unbiased third-party source.
