Since we've been trying forever to have a baby, when I finally got pregnant I was determined not to be a kvetch about all the various symptoms... but that doesn't mean I can't make fun of them :)
Actually none of it's been bad enough imo to make me even -wanna- kvetch, even with the complications we've been having. I personally thought the blood infection I had a few years ago was worse. But I'm not in active labor yet so we'll see :)
AAAAANYWHO here's a little tongue-in-cheek PRAG comic before I explode and form babby. This is mostly stuff I didn't know about beforehand because people like to go on and on about CRAVINGS (I had -one- total) and MORNING SICKNESS (mine wasn't horrible) and WADDLING (not here!) and all the well-known stuff. :) I tried to keep it lighthearted. Also made it a point not to get into the really disgusting stuff because it drives me nuts when I hear up-to-the-minute details from people about what their hooha is doing.

Man. Being preggo kinda sucks in those categories.
When I was preggo with my spawn, the smell things SUCKED sooo bad. Because I lived in a house with 5 other stinky unclean early 20 year olds. Ugh.
And the Glucose test actually made my mouth, throat and stomach burn something fierce.

We have some cleaning supplies that are citrus scented that have been really strong for me lately... BO would drive me nuts D:
Ugh, which flavor did they give you? I had orange for both the 1 hr and 3 hr tests... For some reason the 1 hr made me a lot sicker than the 3 hr.

I cleaned so often when I could. We shared a bathroom with like, 3 dudes and it was so gross ._. Men are nasty at that age.
I only did the 3 hour test, because I didn't start going to a OBGYN until like, the last 4 months of my pregnancy, and didn't even get to go to one the last month before Kael was born due to the husband loosing his job+insurance. But I got the Orange.

Being a man myself, I will never have to deal with the direct physical side-effects of pregnancy. However, we do have to deal with the secondary side-effects - namely, the pregnant wife. From what I've heard, that's a trail worthy of any trooper.
Hell hath no fury like that of a pregnant woman without her Häagen-Dazs. But you're going to be a great mom, so I'm not worried for you.

Hahahha, yeah.. For a few months I was SUCKING IT UP and being all bravado about it but once I was drinking water and still feeling burning I said "Fuck this noise" and did what I should have done in the first place.. gone on safefetus.com and found out what I could take. :) Hooray for the category B meds!
I just finished dealing with a friend from childhood who went through the Preg Zone and I know you ain't told the half of it. :) Like sudden unexpected changes in body temperature that come and go in minutes ("Aaaiie! I have a fever! I... no, wait, I'm fine.") and having your body scent suddenly become unexplainedly attractive to animals you're afraid of (her next-door neighbor had a German Shepherd that paid her practically no attention at all until her second trimester, then suddenly would NOT LEAVE HER ALONE. She couldn't go out to get the mail or the paper without loud vigorous canine affection - and she was terrified of that dog O_O) So yes.. you got ALL of my respect <=)
A good friend of mine went through pregnancy recently (and now has the most gorgeous adorable 1 year old girl X3) and the sense of smell thing was scary. O_O We went into a convention and she swore up and down she could smell an old high school friend of hers all day and then we ran into said friend and she was like "I knew it!"
