James Vucub Hunahpu was a childhood friend of Adam during education in the first two tiers of the Marellan Lyceum, and they met again for the Helios expedition. While he is eager to show his mettle and gain some respect through the mission, he is suspicious of information withheld from the exploration group, and questions the actions of those who are not of the Milicia.
His primary role in the mission is Co–Chief Engineer for propulsion units and the ISV Torifune’s main power-generating module, though he is also the member of the core security force due to Milicia training and several years experience in handling prison riots.

Helios is a novel set in the universe of Stellar Groove. It is about a forward team of scientists, engineers and psychics exploring what lies within (and beyond) a star that has inexplicably turned into a pitch-black portal. What they find will change all they know about themselves, their world and the nature of Gods. That is, if they survive to tell about it.
