You're not the only librarian I know within the fandom; Dronon is also a librarian (he's done 'furry fandom history' panels at several conventions as well as 'comedy improv' panels). For that matter  darc, who's drawn a few of the pictures in my gallery here, is also a librarian. And those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head, I expect there are others.

Speaking as someone who learned how to read at 3 and spent a non-trivial part of my young life in libraries while growing up, I have nothing but respect for them.

(In the original 'design by committee' panel, I'm not sure anybody actually defined Janelle's job as being a librarian so much as she was specified as 'sexy librarian' in looks, but I've gone with it anyway in both the pictures I've had drawn of her so far.)

Actually, Dronon's primary job is (bilingual) cataloguing at the library where he works, and he was saying a few years ago that he had found that 'furry fandom' was now actually a valid subject in the official list of categories a book could be placed under. Mostly for the sociological side of things, I think, but I don't remember the details now.
